Both would be nice.

Out of Dembele and Baines who would you say we need more? I'm almost thinking we need them both equally! :)

Well, I'd have to say Baines as we only have one left-back but a few midfielders, especially as it looks like Fletcher will be back soon.

Fletcher played the full 90 minutes for the U21's today, which is surely great news.

Dembele > Baines for me

I really dont see the need for a LB, we didn't rotate Evra at all last season and I realise this is tempting fate but why would we need to this season? Even if the worst did come to the worst Evans has played LB plenty of times for NI so just shove him out there if needs be.

Indeed it is good news. I thought he played for the reserves but 90 minutes of action from Fletcher is brilliant news. I reckon it'll still be a while before we see him in any kind of first team action. Tbh he just needs to look after his health first.

Not really happy with that :( but his head has been turned by Barca so impossible to keep him.

I know DM loathes him as a player but i thought he played pretty well for us the past few seasons.

Wenger definitely needs to sign someone to replace him.

Good. Now we can loan Sahin and maybe buy another striker.

We already did, his name is Santi Cazorla and he's a massively massively better player.

Song DOES NOT PLAY DM, he hasn't for well over 2 years, except a handful of games in which our defence is significantly worse. Santi is ten times the player Song is, and Wilshire and Arteta are 10 times the player Song is offensively AND defensively. We will be STRONGER with him not there.... well except for the fact that pratt in charge will play Diaby, who is indeed worse than Song... Ramsey, debateble, he shoots too much and is generally rubbish at it, and for every fantastic game since his injury he's had 3-4 pretty awful games.

Wilshire/Santi/Arteta is so much better than Wilshire/Song/Arteta its a joke.... the key thing is Wilshire though, who wants to bet that in October we hear about a new injury or a new setback. If he actually makes it back we play that midfield trio, Podolski/Arshavin on the wings and Giroud upfront.... that is an awesome offensive/defensive package.

Very nice profit on the Song sale. I don't think he'll be missed - for the few through balls he put in for RVP last season he was involved in many of the ones we conceded, he got booked a lot because he couldn't tackle or got caught out far too often and didn't track back as much as he should. Why Barca even want him is a mystery to me, but they're welcome to throw money at us. I don't doubt we'll sign another player before the window closes now.

Good business from Arsenal there. I do think they need a goalscorer though, Podolski I don't expect to ever score consistently, who knows with Giroud.

How much have we got for him?? cant see anywhere thats giving a figure.

Only thing i didnt like about Song was his penchant for getting booked through silly tackles:p.

I said it when i first about it that why are Barca looking at him??...but easy money i suppose for a player who would have left us in the near future.

With these two sales though, Arsenal have 'balanced the books', haven't they?

So the board are unlikely to sign anyone else (maybe Wenger will stand up to them), and Sahin on loan won't command a fee (or much of one) so I think that will be their last bit of business.

It should be enough to get them 3rd or 4th, but they're not going to challenge for much outside of the FA Cup/League Cup, the former of which would admittedly be okay.
