hmmmm, thats odd. It;s a lot bigger than any of the drain holes that i was talking about on my bikes. It's also not centered on that tube but it is almost perfectly round.
Best to ask Rose about it.

I find Cadence much more useful when I'm in the gym on a static bike, as because I'm not really moving, I find that it gives you a really good indication of how consistent your pedalling and effort is.

On my Garmin I find its generally difficult to keep my cadence at a certain level because of how much terrain naturally varies. Plus, unlike a race, chances are you will be on roads where you will have to stop or slow for traffic/Crossings/Lights etc. If you can find a place where you can do laps at a consistent speed, its a bit more useful.

Man up and do 100 miles.:p

I am not physically capable of that just yet, if yesterday is anything to go by. After my metric century yesterday I went for a ride to visit a friend. We then walked for a couple of hours, and then I cycled back home. It was only an another 5 mile ride (and about the same distance walking), but it really took it out of me. I am hoping it was just the heat; I'd like to think I'm fit enough to be able to cope with a little bit of cycling and walking...

I went and ordered myself one of these yesterday :)

I wish you people would stop buying new bikes; my resolve against buying one myself is weak enough as it is. It's only the fact that I can't decide exactly what it is that I want that's sparing me from doing it right away. I remember feeling incredulity at Platypus and [DOD]Asprilla buying a new bike every year; now I find myself doing the same thing :/

Didn't you only just get this bike a couple of days ago? Did you buy it new or second hand? If it was new, then how have the crank arms got so scratched so quickly?

As others have said it's just the pattern on the cranks.

@uniQ - What are all the Canyons you own now? The Ultimate CF is a very nice bike and you get a great spec and pro-level frame for a reasonable price.

Look good, just what i need right now, how much may i ask?

A hare over £2.1k delivered.

My first Canyon and current main bike is a Canyon Roadlite AL 7.0 w/ Ultegra.
The second was a Canyon MTB which was a gift to my dad.
And the new one is the Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 w/ Dura Ace. :)

Basically I plan on getting a Titanium frame but when specced up with minimum of Ultegra they come in at 3k+ built. After talking with Jim from Enigma Bikes and test riding some of my dream titanium frames he mentioned swapping parts over from a donor bike.

I realised I could buy the new Canyon w/ Dura Ace, a Ti frame and use my current Canyon w/ Ultegra as donor for the Ti for a few hundred more pounds than just buying the Ti Complete.

So i'll have an Enigma Ti w/ Ultegra. Canyon CF SLX w/ Dura Ace and a Canyon AL frameset that I'll turn into a project bike and either convert into a single speed or possibly a CX bike depending on clearance, haven't decided yet :)

Awesome.

That's the sort of collection I want to end up with. A carbon "racer". A comfortable and indestructible Ti bike and a steel or alu fixie with drops for around central London and commuting to work.

I'm curious as to which frames you were looking at; were they top end ones, like the Enigma Excel? My Van Nicholas Yukon was listed at £2800 with a full Ultegra groupset and Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels (though I actually paid £2300 for it). There are also a number of VN and Sabbath titanium frame bikes on FatBirds.co.uk that come in well under £3k (in fact, there are quite a few that come in under £2k).

Not that the idea you've had of getting the Canyon and swapping the components is a bad one, of course - I am just curious :)

Yeah that is pretty much my ideal end goal too :). My priority was a Ti but doing it like this pretty much kills 3 birds with 1 stone.

I feel like I'm about to enter the slippery slope of 'weight weenies' on the SLX now. Already eyeing up some Carbon bottle cages.
