Awful speeds, little useful content, massive phone bills, troubleshooting would take days in many instances, no proper spam filters ... I love the 21st century.

As fewer people used it, there certainly seemed to be more of a sense of community and fewer trolls.
What I don't like about modern day internet is how memes are now commonplace to the point where people who have no interest in the internet beyond social networking and have no inkling of geekiness within them, still spout memes off ad-nuaseam as it's the cool thing to do now.

I miss 'going online'
Now, evey device I touch is online before I've even touched it.
Despite the vast size of the internet now, I actually now only use a very small amount of it compared to what I used to.
My bookmarks list in the late 90's early 2000's was 70 to 80 odd websites I would use "regularly", now I have 14, of which I only use about 6.
