Upgrading on a budget.

Sorry should have made myself a bit clearer. I was just keeping in mind the fact that I was going to get a 4850/5770 in the future.

Cheers

Just ran into another weird issue. Bare in mind the mobo is about five years old...

When I took it out to put it in the new case I realised it was hilariously warped in the middle and wasn't perfectly straight

What could cause this? Will it affect anything? (Ignore the dust! :p)

EDIT - Couple more questions:

What software can I use to test the speed of the SSD and make sure it's running right for sata2?

Their does seem to be a lot of room left for a GPU in the case, I think the sizes listed in the specs are just a guide maybe?

When I turn my PC on, the screen will stay black for about ten seconds, then make a bleep noise and then it'll start up as usual. Anyway to get it so it doesn't hang?
Cheers

Thats quiet bad lol.

If its not broke dnt fix it.

As far as ssd bench use atto or as ssd

I managed to fit an 8800GTS in the coolermaster 355 with ease and it was a big card... I imagine a 4850 should fly in then?

Also any idea on the boot issue im reffering to?

If that was mine i would take the cooler off and replace it with a backplated cooler to hopefully make the board abit more straight.

The mobo hadn't been taken out of the case it was in previously for about 4 years, I noticed the mobo screws weren't in the stand-offs very well, maybe this could have caused the warping?

I would say it was the cooler causing the warping. The push pins pull inwards without ANY support for the motherboard.

Its not so bad on 1155 as they have some form of a backplate.

Do you think it'd be safe to remove the cooler to give it a proper clean or would it risk cracking?

Agh I've been offered a Zalman Z7 that's only a few weeks old, 4GB DDR2 Geil and a GA-965P-DS3 for £40.

To take it or leave it? Mobo will be of use because mine seems crazy warped lol, and the RAM is faster than my generic stuff.

Case is nice although it isn't really needed as such...

Cheers
