What phones are coming out over the next few months?

Managed to trash my Lumia 800 on holiday (didn't end up going for a cheap holiday one in the end. Whoops) and Nokia won't fix it under warranty, so I've decided that rather than drop £400 on a phone now, I'll wait for the new batches of phones to come out, and just use my brother's old San Fran in the meantime. If nothing else the current top and mid range should drop even further.

I know the iphone 5 and new windows phones are due out over the next couple of months in terms of announcements, but is there anything particularly exciting due out? The quad core snapdragons are due out as well, aren't they?

I'd be excited for the Windows phones but as much as I love them, 99% of what I liked about WP7 was just how damn smoothly it ran - moving to a totally different base code might mean that it doesn't run as well even with more powerful hardware.

The GS3 and OneX are out, is there anything to look forward to from the Android stable? A quad core nexus?

Sony Xperia Tipo, Go, GX,
HTC Desire V.
Samsung Galaxy Mini2 and the Note 2.
 
Win8 phones. Should be super smooth. Win8 kernel is extremely good.

It's what I'm waiting for, getting annoyed. At the lack of announcements seeing as its all being released in 9 weeks. would have thought. We would have more info by now :(

And the curved glass on the lumia 800, well I so hope they extend this to the bigger display models. It's a stupidly nice touch.

Haha yes I really liked that. One thing I wish they would do is toughen up that plastic; it's way too easy to dent that stuff as, given it's unibody, there's no give whatsoever which meant mine with (other than the holiday) fairly careful usage got dented way too easily.
 
^ Hopefully! Don't forget about that HTC with epic 5" 1080p screen. There should be a ton of new phones around October/November.

All will be revealed in two weeks!
 
Yeah, we're probably looking at the following new Nexus phones in October/November:

  • Sony Xperia Nexus
  • LG Optimus Nexus
  • Samsung Galaxy Nexus II

I'm gonna wait and see which one eats small children for dinner and buy it. Current high end hardware is nice but you really cannot beat stock JB.
 
IFA = Some android phone refresh
Nokia world, big WP8 event and we get to see the Nokia hardware
Apples event iPhone 5
Nexus refresh (Might be 5 Phones)

Anything else I personally think its worth considering.
 
Is there any chance that Sony's Nexus will be quad core? I really like the 720p 4.3" screens but they seem to want to release 500 different dual core phones before they move on.
