Guild Wars 2

Well, I never played the first gw, and im not much of an MMO fan tbh. Ive started with an asuran engie. Like you im not amazed by the dmg output but then i was under the impression eng would be a cc orientated class. I've turned off shadows and reflections and my fps is now adequate, bearing in mind im still running a q6600/4870 toxic :(

It was a tad laggy in and around busy areas, but that is hardly surprising. Overall i quite enjoyed. The only other MMO ive played for any length of time was Ultima about a million years ago.

I think once the servers become stable and everyone stops raping them the issues of lag should go away, never had issues with Arenanet servers in the past.

For those GW1 players, how are you liking GW2?
I for one wish they brought certain elements over from GW1 such as having a crazy amount of different skills available. I miss having running skills :(
 
Anyone had any really stupid deaths?

I managed to fall about a mile in the Asura City off a ledge, took 20000 damage on landing :eek:

I ran down the side of a hill earlier and died instantly after touching the grass at the bottom.

the game seemed to think i should have taken fall damage but it didnt seem like i should have died
 
Even though I've experienced these early start issues/frustrations before in other mmo's, I still wish I was in the early start :D
 
For those GW1 players, how are you liking GW2?

I loved the mesmer in GW1 especially for the interrupt skills. The mesmer doesn't feel quite right in GW2.

Can't get my head around melee combat either - just keep runing around and not hitting stuff.

Love playing an Asuran Engineer though - ver like the other of my GW1 faves - the ritualist.

Game does feel more imersive than GW1 though.
 
Anyone else getting proxy error when trying to activate email account?

Having an email validation in the exact same process as game log-in is absolutely mind-blowingly stupid. Now there are two buggy, crashed-out server processe to go through. Whoever had that idea of sending out account email authentication as part of the same process as initial game log-in should be fired. They had weeks to ask for pre-order accounts to validate themselves. Why do it at the exact same time as the troublesome first log-in? It's like another pointless hurdle.
 
can anyone answer me this ? i have a skill on one of my 5 toons (cant remember which 1 but i think its mesmer), its the skill #1 auto attack thing.

on mouse over it has 3 'states' (chain?) does this mean if i just leave it auto attacking it will progress through all 3 assuming the mob stays alive, or do i have to hit #1 again to advance it ??

it will just cycle the 3 :)
