I just hope with Jack that he doesn't prove to be injury prone or mistreated by our medical staff. The biggest IF is how quickly he will be up to the level he showed before the injuries.

Very excited at how the Ox will transition to a central role this season!

I think Ox could be a bit of a revelation playing more centrally, I think he would really shine.

No one knows how much any of these deals cost, it's just guesstimates. What's more predictable is that when Arsenal and Liverpool are competing for a Real Madrid player Moses will make it about Utd fans :)

You almost sound surprised. Daft isn't it.

Meh soon as i heard there was no buy out clause, i could see Arsenal walking away from the loan deal. The deal itself doesnt suit us as Wenger has been after Sahin for a number of years and with no buy out clause, theres really no point in taking him for a season.

more shrewd business from rodgers

lolz

I think it is. I don't believe we are in the position to attract/buy a player of his quality right now. Loan for £5 million IS shrewd business:)

Being honest, Arsenal would have been the more attractive club right now, but i can equally see why it didnt make sense for Arsenal.

heh you would be right if you had first refusal to buy if he was any good

It's all about player power now a days, Sahin could force a transfer if he wished to stay at Liverpool I'm sure, it's not like Real can't attract the best players in the world to replace him.

If he does well, he'd probably see that as a good chance of getting some game time at Real Madrid (I'd have said the same had he joined Arsenal). Players tend to force moves TO Madrid, not away.

have you got a reputable figure and source?

£2m loan fee and approximately £84k per week in wages - The Times.

As I mentioned in here before, the wages aren't really relevant as we'd be paying wages of a player that we'd sign on a permanent deal. Anyway the total cost based on the above would be £5.7m (£3.7m in wages based on us keeping him until July 1st rather than the end of the season - it might be less if his loan ends at the end of the season (mid May)).

This talk of £5m (I've not seen a decent source report it though) could possibly include his wages; i.e. instead of us paying Sahin a weekly/monthly wage, we pay Real a lump sum to cover our share of his wages and they carry on paying him as usual.

Look at Madrid's transfers out ;) Sniejder, Huntelaar, Robben to name a few, I imagine Kaka will be next. Some football players do actually want to play and if RM sign Modric that will only push him further down the pecking order.
