Final Fantasy 7 Re-release

Nothing yet and I doubt there will be any time soon or ever.

Seeing as the £7.99 price is till the 12th September, it's all Square Enix store exclusive until then.

Waaaaay OT, but inspired by this thread.......

Had it for years, but never got round to playing it, mainly due to the inconvenience of having to play it on the PS2...

That's the guy from Avatar, right??
James Cameron pinched him from FFX?! :p

Seems like trash, It's 4:3 with black boxes and still as bad graphics. Any suggestions on mods? I have old and new release neither of which i've finished (crash at last boss for original).

Ugh, FF10. I still haven't completed it. Not my favourite of the series, sadly.

I once tried to count the number of times the characters said "you know" in a single cut scene. I ran out of numbers :p

unfortunately a lot of the qhimm mods don't work yet on the rerelease, but that might change in future. i'm sticking with old version for now

One of the biggest points of this re-release is so that the game works on modern computer systems straight out of the box and with minor performance improvements, unlike the old version which required compatibility patches and such for a lot of people who had trouble running it.

If you thought this was a full on remake, then you can keep on dreaming and lose those expectations for a long time.

Surely you must at least know what Final Fantasy VII is. :p

Otherwise no, the only online related things in the re-release version are online activation, cloud storage and achievements for your Square Enix profile. You'll need to make an account on their website if you want to purchase and download the game. Don't expect a Steam version any time soon or ever.

Or there is the old 1998 PC CD-ROM version if you want to hunt that down.

The only online Final Fantasy's in the main numbered series are XI and XIV as they are MMORPGs.

I'll be honest. I've never played any of these games but have always been tempted. Maybe now is the time me thinks. Thanks for the heads up.

If you can look past the PSOne-era graphics and rather focus on the story and gameplay, hopefully it should keep you interested and perhaps see what the fuss has been about all this time.

It's £7.99 from the Square Enix store until the 12th September, so you are in no rush. If you miss out on this, but luckily also have a PS3, then there is also the PSN PSOne Classic version for just around the same price.
