Yeh getting the balance right is very important. A month or so ago I was struggling on Act1 and unable to even consider Act2 on my Barb. Went with Evilsod's advise and got rid of some all resist and boosted my armour, strength and vitality. Refined it a bit further and I can just about cope in Act 3.

Hopefully I'll return home tonight to find I am the owner of a very nice new ring. If I get that I can sacrifice some dps in a few areas and boost my All Resist, I've got to the point where it's a bit low for Act 2. Fire damage is especially causing me issues as I've mainly gone with Physical resist (by far the most useful as a Barb)

my res is 750-850's with shout, i also have 9600 armor

With or without enchantress?

With no buffs at all I'm at 10000 armour, 400 phys, 330 fire, 250 all res. With War Cry and Enchantress I'm at 12750k armour, 600 phys, 500 fire, 375 all res.

I still managed to finish Inferno with that res and a few days ago I managed to do act 3 without War Cry, using Earthquake + Wrath of the Berserker to demolish any elites that caused problems.

Its better to get the highest all res you can on a few pieces and leave it off others instead of paying extra to get 50-65 on everything at the cost of stats.

I wouldn't worry about it at lower levels. Other than building int/vit where you can there isn't much more you can do. Just keep an eye out at the ring merchant to see if he has any good rings/amulets.

As its your first playthrough you might wanna avoid the AH unless you start struggling. If you really want to you could always buy some Flawless Square gems off it though. If nothing else I would advise a Ruby for your helm for the exp boost.

Anyone playing now that can help me , at the gates of hell (Diamond Gates) trying to kill Iskatu he's a pain
doing my head in

Well its my second play through on nightmare, got to Act II now

I was thinking more till you finish Hell and hit level 60. Then it really becomes part of the game whereas before that you can easily just start to have problems, buy your char a full set of gear for 1-2k a piece, including weapons, then walk through the next few acts without much issue and it kinda spoils things on your first character.

So... I was complaining about not having 1 legendary drop since I started playing. Then lo and behold, this bad boy dropped:

I just bought a new weapon with 600 loh and a bit more min damage but lower overall dps for 1.5mil. my damage went down a bit but now i have over 1000 loh. I also swapped out my boots for better ones that i already had as those set boots are not as good unless you have a set.

oh and nice drop that ring. Usually if i get a nice drop it will be useless for DH, my only class i have used.

After 21 paragon levels with only 2 legendaries I got 2 and 1 set item (nats cloak) tonight. Shame they were all badly rolled junk but at least I got to see some!
