Hey guys,

Seen lots and lots of talk about the new iphone and maybe a ipad mini, but what would you like to see on a new Ipad(NonMini)?

Things i would like to see.

  1. I would like a larger screen by reducing the space around the edge but not increasing the size of the device,
  2. More Memory - Maybe a 128gb and 256gb?
  3. Better Camera Front and back, the facetime camera needs to improve, but the one of the back could be better,
  4. SMS sending - why cant this work? surely its just a software thing?

  1. Not going to happen as you need that space to grab the device. I "know" the iPhone 5 is going to the edge but you can't grab the iPad like an iPhone.
  2. Doubt they will increase the size that much to be honest. The price increase would put it on par with a MacAir, plus Apple are moving to cloud storage etc...
  3. You'll probably get this, depending on if the iPhone5 gets an updated camera.
  4. Doubt they'll do this as they'll be focussing on iMessages.

"know" based on rumours and leaked pictures

It's not often I describe things as such, but I think the size of the screen (and bezel) on the iPad is perfect.

Memory wise, I wouldn't bank on an increase. Apple would rather make more profit on the sizes they currently offer.

The camera will almost certainly be better, which is not difficult.

Less weight and a faster charging battery would make a nice improvement.

I would certainly like the option of a bigger screen, even if it was physically bigger.
With the size of some apps now larger storage sizes would be useful too, and whilst they are pushing to cloud storage, that doesn't help with most apps which have to be on the ipad itself.
Digital magazines are also delivered and stored locally too, one of the reasons my 32Gb is nearly full, and also why a larger screen size would be nice.

I run an iPad 2, and I'm really happy with it. I'd like the resolution of the iPad 3 for sure and, having the 16 gb version, I'd like a bit more memory too but other than that I like it for what I use it for. Incremental improved battery performance and less weight would be welcome, but that's about it.

Isn't that one of the key selling points of Apple devices - that specifications like memory and processor speed are now inconveniences that others need to discuss, whilst in the meantime your Apple device just works? That whilst others are fretting about the number of GPUs and cores, you're actually just using your device and enjoying it?

Seems to have resulted in huge sales and market share so far.

12" screen, sd card slot, hdmi slot, USB slot, (never going to happen though)
128/256 would be good
4g uk spec.
And that's about it hardware wise.

But main thing would need to be a spectaculare iOS upgrade. True multitasking among other stuff.
Total redesign of network login, logging into things like hotel wifi networks, is a total nightmare.
Massive safari upgrade.

Edit-
As below guest users, amount of times people have used my iPad and it's like aggghhh from Facebook logged in and such like.

An Ipad shaped hole after a small incendiary device blows the crap out of it :P

I can't really see anything else I'd like in the next iPad. I have the latest generation and it's perfect for me...

If the iPhone gets NFC, then it would be nice to follow the trend, but other than that... just more memory, better battery (Even though it's currently excellent), and faster innards :p

what benefit would this give?

Being able to do things at once.
Say have a video on and posting on OcUK.
Makes copy and paste much easier, recipe on one half of the tablet, tesco store on the other half.
Or what ever there's literally a million and one reason for multitasking.

Keep the iPad 3 screen, battery and design but add...

2-4 cortex A15 cores (1.7GHz) with 2-4 cortex A7 cores.
powerVR G6430 GPU
2GB LPDDR3-1600
64-128GB

Yum.

Oh and the usual...

UHS-I micro SD card slot
iOS bootcamp (to run JB or RT)
Improved keyboard/pointer/peripheral support.
Improved multitasking.

lol, Apple are the biggest spec whores around! Only techblogs stuck in the 90s think that :p

I'd like for it to have the same connector / socket as the new iPhone.

No messing about with adaptors.

That would actually rock on a Ipad, easy enough screen space to have a app open on the left and one on the right.

I'm currently thinking about buying a ipad 3 but rumour has it I should at least wait till the 12th to see if they do a mini update on it.
