Do you think drugs should be legal?

Its always youngsters who have just tried their first drug that have the epiphany that drugs should be legalized.

It will wear off over time when you realise the hangovers are not worth it.

There are plenty of people who used in the past and no longer do who still think the current system should be changed.

Usually down to the cutting agents rather than pure MDMA itself.

Yup. The browner MDMA is, the more heroin it has.

Not at all. It's the same as dealing with the hangovers from booze.

In fact, as long as you know what you you are doing with MD, the hangover is a very nice feeling.

Such a boring, ad hom attack.

Prohibition simply does not work. It is barbaric, costs a fortune (that 'we' do not have) and causes addiction rates to skyrocket.

Most drugs don't produce hangovers, alcohol is an exception because of it's toxic metabolites.

As I said, weed and MDMA (as they are the least addictive and harmful of the current prominent drug scene) should be made legal, and regulated heavily. Anything else no.

Apart from Mushrooms.

In fact, as long as you know what you you are doing with MD, the hangover is a very nice feeling.

Pretty bold statements - I imagine many people will disagree with those.

Nadda, The comedown is horrendous but not as bad as base :(

Cannabis has all the pros and none of the cons, For me anyway. Why it's illegal is purely ££ related, GW pharma play a HUGE part in keeping it illegal.

Shrooms maybe.

However with MDMA, as long as you aren't stupid and take a gram in one go and don't drink any water you'll be fine on the comedown. It's actually helped quite a bit by smoking weed on the comedown!

MDMA is pretty much harmless unless you are an idiot.

That was in particular what I was referring to :p

Mmmm, I disagree to extents. It is potent stuff and has the ability to knock people into pockets of depression for days, even weeks. It has more apparent mental side effects to drugs like alcohol, even if it doesn't make you feel physically ill.

Serotonin levels are the blame though, it's not the MDMA that makes you feel bad, it that how the MDMA makes you feel good leaves you with a depletion in the stuff that makes you feel good afterwards.

This is were individual serotonin levels and natural reproduction rates vary from person to person, and doing stuff like pre- and post-loading (5-HTP FTW) helps mitigate the issues.

If you are generally a gloomy person with low serotonin levels, then you will get hit harder by the comedown than captain happy-go-lucky who eats a diet rich in tryptophan and takes the appropriate supplements.

Ecstacy, amphetamine, acid and cocaine all give a hangover, mostly due to tiredness from not sleeping and a feeling of depression with things like amphetamine.

But that's not a hangover though, being tired because you didn't sleep much is a natural emotion regardless of what caused you not to sleep. That's different to a hangover which is purely caused by drinking too much booze and is the effect of your liver trying to process that alcohol.

By your logic coffee gives you a hangover as it keeps you awake a bit longer which will ultimately result in feeling bit more tired later.

Lol! I hope that is sarcasm, or you have just completely destroyed any credibility in your opinions on this topic. :p

Hmm. I read that somewhere but now can't seem to find the link. Odd.

However Brown MDMA seems to be the most impure, with Purple being the strongest form.

:D I've seen people on shrooms and then come down, and it doesn't seem to be that bad.

Again, only if you do silly amounts. Know your limits. Mine, for instance, is half a gram. And that is pushing it.

Not that I do it anymore.

And this. My friend gets hit really badly by it. I don't know why he does it.

It is partially because he does too much.

Its a combination, the drugs do have an effect and it seems (or seemed) cumulative to me when I was in my early 20's, they got too much and I stopped.

I am not really an advocate one way or another whether drugs should be legal, some should, some shouldnt, I just find it amusing that its always youngsters who start these kind of threads that we have had many times over the years.

It is the serotonin levels that are responsible for the mood swings, but it's the MDMA that grossly affects them, so it's still does have side effects even if they do vary from person to person. I understand what you are saying, but I still think it's fair to say that it does have more noticeable mental side effects than alcohol.
