Guild Wars 2

Level 6 ele, i am joint slowest leveler on OCUK :)

Just having fun running around at the moment, certainly is a beautiful game.

Ok just a quick example, Duel pistols theif 20 man group v elite mob. I have auto attack, body shot which i can stack and unload as my main damange skills. Thats 2 buttons to press, now i can steal and use the skill thats another.

I can switch to my bow and drop a poison cloud for my team then switch back. Slot skill's i only have two open at the moment and both of them are buffs. I cant see what more i can do, the characters are just really basic.

Complaing about the combat in the 20s :s

Like in any game, the classes mature as you level and unlock traits and skills.

I'm board to tears with my thief. Questing and wvwvw is great fun and i tip my hat off to them. The problem is classes are just not engaging, there are too few skills. I know i can swap weapons but most of the skills are useless. I think WoW has spoiled me and I'm used to managing 30+ skills.

I just did a group quest with 20 people v an elite mob. With auto attack i only had 3 buttons to press and two of them were buffs.

Dude every char is like this. You will never get as many skill sets as in WoW.

People need to stop comparing.

You joking? Whilst I'm not sure the combat is tight enough to compare it to WoW is pretty silly.

First of all of your skills are pretty useful on every weapon+if you have the correct choosen skills.

Secondly you may get 30+ skills in WoW, you use the same 3 or 4 entire fights and maybe blow 1-2 cooldowns as well, lets not pretend you use a plethora of skills in WoW.

No... People can keep comparing just fine? It's a widely-understood baseline for the comparison. As long as they make the comparisons fairly it's a perfectly legitimate thing to do.

The problem arises when people treat every difference as a problem, rather than weighing either way. In the case of the guy you're quoting (who I don't agree with, but there you go) the comparison seems to be that he feels less active/in control/doesn't have as much to do when compared to the familiar class in WoW.

that's a legitimate comparison.

Suggesting ways to mix it up, or alternatives that may suit a more dynamic playstyle, or anything like that is a fine and useful response. "People need to stop comparing" isn't a particularly helpful one.
