**CRAZIEST SSD DEAL YET: 120GB SSD ONLY £43.99 Inc. VAT!**

Difference is night and day, loading anything will be almost instant.

In BIOS make sure your SATA controller is in AHCI mode.

Don't defrag SSD's they don't need it and it will only reduce the lifespan if done many times.

can i just ask why this needs to be done? does this need doing on all ssd's?

So tempted to get one of these. How is this in performance compared to the Crucial M4, keep in mind I'm still on SATA 2

I doubt you'd notice the difference between either unit on SATA 2 and you'd be hard pressed to notice any difference even on SATA 3, unless of course you're purely talking about benchmarks.

Compared to a mechanical drive though it's a no brainer, near instant access time for the win!

Theres an awful lot of failure complaints on the OCZ Website, although i guess there would be on the OCZ support forum, so i realise this is inevitable.

So would i be right in thinking that these are a slightly older technology, than the latest offerings from the likes of samsung and crucial? Are the newer technologies likely to be more reliable?

My PC is quite old now (core2duo, gigabyte GA 965P DS4, 8800GT) but it still does me proud really. Ive been considering an upgrade to a Core2Quad, and an SSD, and Windows 7 and price wise this would be perfect, but i would happily pay the extra for better reliablilty... but if the newer offerings arnt any more reliable, then whats the point?

What do you guys think? are the newer SSDs more reliable?

Cheers

Will your new motherboard be SATA 3? If so then don't get this as it's SATA 2

Quick question actually. Ive just bought one of these but upon checking I cannot enable AHCI on my laptop BIOS. Will it work with just the normal settings?

Had one of these running for about 18 months now, it has been great!
Ordered another couple for steam/games storage :)

Anyone running these in RAID?

I was going to buy a Samsung 830, but then saw these for nearly half the price. I'm just wondering if the 830 is worth the extra money over this drive. Would I be able to tell the difference between them in everyday use?

It should be fine and dandy, but you'll lose a little bit of performance without AHCI.

hi there, I have a OcUK system (Titan - 2+ years old) - All of the power cables are tied inside the case - I do not have any addtional cables sent with the machine (Even though OcUK sent me each components box) I have a question, which might sound silly, but do I need to buy any addtional cables, or does everything I need come with the SSD deal?

I would like to buy two of these SSD.

My current system spec:
Antec 1200 case
Gigabyte EX58 - UD3R
2 x 60 GB Vertex 2 in RAID 0 mode
1 x 500GB HDD drive

So, from my little understanding, I guess that I need to get something to hold these drives in place, I know OcUK sorted that out in my rig for my current 2 SSD...though do I need to buy any cabling with the SSD to connect it to the mobo or does that come with it?

This information isn't on the spec of these SSD's , so anyone's help would be most appreciated.

I bought one of these a few years ago and as an OS drive I have to say the speeds are terrible its just not a fast OS drive at all takes 35-40 secs to boot vs 10-15secs on a fast OS SSD drive.
