I'm about to get back into e39 ownership..

Actually no, it takes LL01 not 04. This might seem pedantic 04 is fine in Europe but BMW specifically say no to ll04 in most of the rest of the world due to sulphur content in fuel. This is why for example only Europe got the N53 engine. It's definitely the case for the USA and I am pretty sure Australia as well.

Yeah I already worked that out and replied accordingly ;)

It appears that Lemforder/Boge and Corteco mounts are one and the same - all OEM.

My options:
2 x Corteco engine mounts - $164 delivered (ebay)
1 x Lemforder engine mount - $86 delivered (ebay)

I assume it's prudent to change these in pairs?

While I'm at it, I might as well grab some new transmission mounts:
2 x lemforder mounts - $50 delivered (ebay)

Are they reasonable prices?

Apparently Lemforder are OEM, apparently TRW are OEM, apparently Febi were OEM.

Apparently is not good enough for engine mounts, gearbox mounts, propshaft and seals.

I get what you're getting at but BMW don't manufacture OEM parts, so you're just paying BMW's huge mark-up.

i highly doubt febi are oem anything. ive not seen an original part with their name on any car and IMO their components are crap. ive seen parts of theirs fail very quickly

So a guy from work lent me his code reader and this is what I found:
80 EWS Signal
CA 02 sensor control limit cyl #1-3
CB 02 sensor control limit cyl #4-6
F2 Misfire cyl #5
F3 Misfire cyl #6
F1 Misfire cyl #4

I have reset the codes and see what pops back up.
I think the first is due to me trying the second key (which doesn't start the car)
CA & CB may be due to a split intake hose, I'll have to have a look tomorrow.
F1-F3 are possibly from before it went in for it's last service. It has all new plugs so if the error remains then it's potentially the coil packs I guess.

In the UK maybe, but Australia has LOLdealer prices :(

Just order them from the UK. If they won't ship direct to you I'm sure someone on here would buy them and forward them onto you.

Chances are you will have them in a week from the UK, so just as fast as the dealer over here as they won't stock them.

Today had good news and bad news.

Good news: Found out that the car has a K&N filter fitted.
Bad news: Lost the under engine belly pan at some stage :( Really bizarre as I don't remember hearing any noises. Gotta go and scour the breakers yards now.

The car needs a new rocker cover gasket as it looks like it was fitted incorrectly and I'll replace the DISA valve O-ring while I'm at it. Trying to decide whether or not to do the VANOS seals while I'm at it.

Hows it running, autobox still in one piece?

Absolutely fine, box is silky smooth and the car has plenty of power. Looking forward to getting my parts from Pelican Parts to replace the rocker cover gasket as I'm getting the oil fumes through the fans which is really annoying.

When are we having a Sydney/NSW meet? :D

Come to Bathurst in three weekends time, your BMW will be easy to spot among the FPR and HPV utes and drunk people!

I nearly went to Bathurst last year, just can't really justify the cost! 3 weekends time I'll hopefully be finishing fitting all my new parts. What is the Sydney - Bathurst trip like? Any decent roads?
