I can't find many reviews on it, a guy on a forum bought one and was pleased with it.

Have you been offered one? I'd hazard a guess that the BK XLS400 would beat it. Speculation of course.

How much? The BK Monolith is the 'go to' subwoofer for about £450. In fact it's hard to beat unless you're spending north of a grand. Goes lower and louder, but you'd do well to have an Antimode to go with it depending on your room.

Wouldn't consider wireless subs at all tbh. Typically don't get the response as you do with a wired sub and it's just another thing chucking out interference.

BK Monolith all the way for that price.

Mate had one, it wasn't bad but his older Mordaunt Short 309 performed better so he sold it and bought a BK XLS200 and hasn't looked back. Really is a fantastic little sub :)

i have a question. would a active PA sub be any good for home use or are they only good for djing?

such as this one.

Highlights

  • Active 15" (38cm) subwoofer bass bin with Bi-Amp with 400W RMS - 800W max. Performance
  • Top located stand mount for a spacer stand
  • Separately adjustable subwoofer and satellite-volume
  • Easy transport thanks to large, laterally recessed tray handles
Features:

  • Connections: 2 x 6.3 mm jack, microphone input, 1 x RCA stereo input, 1 x RCA line output, 2 x Speakon output for connection of passive speakers
  • Onboard 2-band equalizer - bass and treble adjustable
  • Protective metal corners
  • Metal protection grid
  • Felt cover
  • Frequency response: 20Hz to 250Hz
  • SPL Sensitivity: 101 dB (127dB SPL max.)
  • Ground / Life-switching
  • Power supply: 220 - 240V, 50/60Hz

PA subs wouldn't have the nice low rumble needed for films and I can't imagine it being that fast for quality music, they are more about volume.

Do you have something against buying the highly recommended BK subs? lol

Save a bit longer and get the BK. You're wasting your money buyin anything else to be honest.

tbh i won't have anymore spare money for atleast 10-12months+. i just got this £320 due to sold old computer parts/monitor...

i don't work due to being disabled. so really £320 is the limit.

i've been using 3 subs for around 5-6 years+ which they've give great bass and rumble but now im looking for 1 sub that will give the same amount of bass and power.

XLS200 it is then, in terms of sound quality and durability BK can't be beaten at the price. If you want a very loud one note fart box the jbl will please.

i prefer buying brand new speakers and subs. so i won't be going for second hand ones..

i have my own reason for that. in the part i bought a 2.1 set the pc and it worked for about 2months then it dead, no warranty so it's useless...

so i don't want to speed £250 on a second sub that could dead in 2/4/6/10 months and as no warranty

well i found the XLS 200 MK2 and XLS200-DF MK2 for £314.95 at BK site...

i have a question., will the XLS200 275w be as loud as the jbl es250 400w in terms of loudness or would it be the xxls400?

Forget that JBL crap and purge it from your mind.

No one will give you info about it because it's just wasting everyone, inc your, time!

Just get the best BK sub you can afford which seems to be the xls200. Fyi the DF version is downfiring, somehting I prefer as the driver is hidden away from view.

, the last i knew this was a forum so people can get help or ask questions and get answers...

also i was asking about the xls200 loudness due to being only 275w.

i know people here recommend bk subs and i understand they give better quality sound and yes i most likely be ordering one. but still i would like to know about both.
