My 100mb has dropped to an all time low:

However my stats are perfect and everyone I've spoken to is telling me I should be getting the full 100mb

Not sure I at present.can cope with an 0845 number for half an hour whilst some idiot reads a script at present.

Right well after an exciting hour on the phone at great expense, I'll need an engineer visit. Which means I'm unlikely to have internet until near November as I need a weekend visit, and I don't have any free. Great.

not sure what to say about that, for me........ I NEED the internet at home, so i called ASAP and then took the first available appointment for the engineer, i then took the morning off work, if i was unable to take that morning off work i would off made sure i had someone there. either a neighbor or friend......heck i would even have paid someone!

so i don't think you can blame them for not fixing until November because your too busy to see them.

these things happen, and its a shame, but for me i spoke with someone on bank holiday monday and had the first app they could do, was Wednesday AM......which i grabbed!

The Double speed checker has been updated to give me abit more detail of my area upgrades, I'm getting:

Your area is
being upgraded

We estimate your area will be ready by the end of:
October 2012

Great news - our engineers are close to finishing the network upgrade in your area.

More about the upgrade
Want to see how much more you can do with your new speed?

Find out more

My upgrade is apparently meant to be Q3 2013.
But my internet is sometimes going upwards of 90Mb. I'm meant to be on 50Mb.

Just wish it was consistent.

We've had an E-mail to say we've had our upgrade too, but we haven't obviously.
My GF's house which is literally a 3 minute walk, on the checker it says their area is done now, which means no sense, they're literally around the corner.

Unfortunately we need the internet as my wife gets her appointments from work every morning (she is a domiciliary optician). She has had to drive to a Macdonalds to use their free Wifi, and will until we get this sorted.

Their engineers used to work up until 8pm which would have been ok, now its 7pm so we can't guarantee we'll be in. All well and good if your work will let you take the time off.

Mobile broadband?

i would have called in sick or got someone to house sit. that was my point dude, just take whatever appointment and make sure someone is there, friend or neighbour

Right, well I don't call in sick, unless I'm you know, sick.

Any road. Thankfully I'm away most of September :p.

Don't think so - I'm in Dunstable and only on 100mb - Virgin told me not until new year for here

13.1MB/s is 104Mbit, which is well within the 100mbit line profile (which is actually 110mbit, for various ASA related reasons).

Besides which, it only started rolling out last week by VM's own admission, unless you were in one of the test areas (which Dunstable isn't) :)

Yep and 133 = 16.6MB/s but in real world we will be seeing 125 which = 15.6MB/s which should mean we will see at least a constant 15MB/s when not including overheads.

What is the general view on VM 100MB?
only good if you dont need to ring?
always getting the speed you should etc?

im considering getting VM from Bethere 10MB
Keeping my Bt Phone Line so i can get Free Sky Broadband too.
So i would have VM 100MB & Sky up to 16MB as a backup.

I went for it to get the higher caps before limits - as I was hitting it quite often on 20mb, 60mb caps aren't much higher - 100mb caps are more generous

this is the limit before throtting occurs is what I mean

we were paying 69 for our package, phoned up retentions and signed up for new 12 month deal - dropped or phone to free evenings and weekends (rather than all times) - and 60 was offered for slightly cheaper than we were paying or 100 for a couple of quid more. Plus we got a hd box for upstairs too

so for us the price difference 60 vs 100 was only £2-3 which I thought was a no brainer :)

I'm still on the old VIP package from early 2000's O.o

2nd Gen Virgin+ box, SD 2nd box, 50mb BB (still waiting for the 120mb upgrade)

TV XL, Sky Sports/Movies/HD, Phone Anytime.

All at the current price of £106pm.

I guess its time I started to re-negotiate my package, since all the set top boxes have changed.
