Car hunting is no longer doing my head in

These are near on 200mph cars. The XFR with 'tweaks' did 225mph. That would have been around 600bhp.

Its not really the same class of car as a Cayman anyway so some trades are to be expected - Its quite an all round package.

very much so, the Jag is loads bigger, not tried throwing it about much yet

They do feel wide on the road. That view in the door mirrors of the rear arches/haunches never gets though. The XJ feels narrower on the road, I do struggle placing an XK on country lines, you generally feel happy that your within the lines. Fortunately for those B road blasts the F type is much better for road positioning. :D

don't tell me that :(

If I set cruise control to 65 on a motorway run - it reported 29mpg a couple of times... your newer one should be able to get more than that.

The problem was... as soon as you hit traffic... it would just drop and drop and drop... lol... also, it's really hard to just sit on cruise control at 65 with such an engine & car - it felt so slow.

Rotty

Lovely car!

14k for the Cayman, was it shagged? Surely you could have plonked it on PH at 16k and it would have gone within 48hrs?

dealer has put it up for £15,995 so maybe £14k wasn't that bad, plus the £500 service on the XKR wasnt thrown in if I paid cash, having said that I have seen examples of your haggling skills on here, I think I will take you with me next time :)

How do you find the gear changes? I've been in an XKR coupe as a passenger and thought the gear changes (particularly using paddles) to be quite jerky, not in a bad way but quite smooth when just cruising, which is good. :o

left it a couple of days to report on this one, in normal "D" mode the shifts are barely noticeable in "S" mode they are more obvious but still extremely smooth

I know this sounds boring but could you update us with how the fuel economy is compared to the cayman.

Oh my, err not good

experiences so far

best on a run 24mpg, probable average when I behave 18-20mpg, town driving 10mpg, giving it some 7mpg

looks like the warranty will have already paid off in the 1st 2 weeks, new headlight at £1200  :D
