Unless of course he is so professional he made it look unprofessional.
My guess is the start of a serial Killing spree, this guy white, middle aged, lives within 30 miles of the scene, recently Divorced/seperated from wife and has three children.
he devolved very quickly, into his present mind state, thus indicating that he will kill again soon, (5-10 days, if not sooner)
he is very orginised, but as this is his 'first run', he made mistakes. he underestimated ammo, and the amount of people, forcing him to try and kill the daughter by hand.
but he is uneasy about killing by hand, and has just found this out, he needs the remote feeling of a gun to commit the act.
i'll also add he is balding, and of Italian origin.

The fact that the two surviving victims are under police protection might suggest that this crazed killer has a personal vendetta against this family.
But I do agree that it could be a "spree" type shooting as equally as it could be a pre-meditated contract killing.
Unless like OldCoal said, it was made to look that way as to not attract attention. Very possible!

to not to atract attention?![]()
£1 says they will never find out what happened and catch the killer.
If it is a serial killer, you don't go after a car full of people. They typically go after 1 at a time.
If it is a mass murderer, he would have move on to the next site and kept on killing yesterday.
This is in 1 site, bullets to the head and then disappeared. It doesn't seem like there was any financial motive. BMW wasn't taken, so it wasn't a car jacking.
I might have seen too many movies but it has all the hallmarks of a professional job.
if it was pre meditated, it would have been much cleaner, think about it,
your on a quiet road, they are in a car, you know they are coming. you have been watching them for weeks. you know they are on holiday, you know how many there are.
why miss the little girl under the bodies?
best attack would be bomb/rpg/machine gun.
even if you were determined to do it with a hand gun, you would have a back up gun/back up ammo.
Ok so a lot of us would associate a 'professional' job with a hitman, a shooter. But it there were several targets, i.e. the family, surely there are more 'discreet' and therefore professional ways to get rid of them? They could have had a 'tragic accident' in the car, or they could have been taken out in the night rather than broad daylight, hell, car bomb?
I would think there are more clues left behind from what actually happened than from my suggestions. Tailing the car, apprehending it, and killing them individually seems a bit... inefficient, if that's not too insensitive.

The girl was shot once in the shoulder once and then had her skull fractured from a beating it seems.
Sounds like the gunman run out of ammo judging by the number of spent rounds found at the scene?

with my expert knowledge of guns i'm gonna go along with your theory and say it was a glock 18. i think the article said there were 15 shots on the car, one to the head of each parent and one to the shoulder of the girl. (i'm pretty sure the glock 18 holds 17 bullets + 1 in the chamber)
after the killer realises he's out of ammo and the girl might remember what he looks like so he panics and knocks the girl senseless.
however it happened i feel so sorry for the two young girls. not only is the older of the two in a seriously bad way but they've lost their parents in a horrific way![]()
