Tell us about things you're very good at

I'm just going to lay it right on the table here and say it but... You could literally dp yourself by keeping your old utensil in a pickle jar?

That's the thing, sexuality can be such a fluid thing (as is gender!) that to try and pigeonhole someone at any given point in time can be very difficult. Put it this way, I've had much more success with girls since I started presenting as a girl on nights out (majority of the time in mainstream 'normal' bars and clubs) than I ever did presenting as male. Whether that's down to natal females being more curious about their sexuality and more willing to explore it, I don't know?

I actually know this part already, first hand, it taught me a lot about girls/lesbians/bi-sexuals, the good, the bad and the ugly side of it. Hence i am curious, but never spoke with someone doing what you are going through, even though my dissertation was on the subject (legal) matter.

What the... :(

Fair play for being so, erm, I dunno... dis-bloody-gusting? :D

As it happens, DirtyJester on here has already claimed all my bits. He's dreadfully lacking down below so I thought I'd help him out and donate some larger parts.

Ah so I know who to come to if I ever have any problems :p

Why do you want a vagina if you prefer having sex with girls?

Surely a penis is more practical for everyone involved.

Having a penis means for it to work there has to be those dangly bits underneath. Those produce testosterone.

Testosterone is the evil, evil spawn-juice of the devil incarnate. It causes untold misery, suffering and drives one to the very brink of ending life. It creates such agonising and debilitating anxiety as it spread throughout the body during puberty, shaping the body and making it do things that seem so unnatural.

I'd rather get rid of the lot, thanks :)

I don't think oestrogen = want a penis. Otherwise all these horny lesbians will be sleeping with men!

I know that, but then why become a woman at all?
All these things we regard as feminine are things that we have constructed. It's such a deep subject. I don't even know where to start. Society chooses what is and what isn't something. Why is it for example not seen as that strange for a woman to dress in men's clothes but when a man dresses in women's clothes it's seen as strange by the vast majority because a man appearing feminine isn't cool but a woman appearing masculine is just a strong woman in societies eyes. I'm making massive assumptions etc with what I just said but some of it's true. What I mean is all these things that are called 'being a woman' aren't what being a woman is. Being a female is a gender. X or Y, 1 or 0. The difference between men and women is that one carries babies the other doesn't. Now, my last few sentences aren't true because we have people who are born a woman in a man's body. So then is being a woman not just a physical thing?

My mind is so undecided on this, as you can see from the above text. It just baffles me so much. It just makes me question how different we are to other species (having just had a quick google, it turns out it has been observed where some animals have behaved like the opposite sex). So is gender something that's defined by DNA, the mind or society? My mind is so conflicted on this whole thing.

Weird post I know, I just don't quite know how to understand it. I'm not against it in anyway, I believe people should be able to live however the hell they want. To lucy in particular you go girl! If it is what would make you happy in life then do it.

I go away for a few hours and ... magic happens. I'm going to go away for a few more hours and see what develops.

This thread is really interesting. I specialised in gender/sexuality for my degree so it's very cool having a "case study" to ask questions of.

The question I always want to ask is similar to what Mason has said. If gender and sexuality are only really binary in the way we construct our society, then the only real reason I can understand to want to change your appearance or physical signs is to change the way you fit into society or get treated by the majority. Is that your motivation?

I always understand transexuals as describing the choice to be one of personal identity though, rather than how that identity relates to society (if indeed that's possible). What's your opinion on that Lucy bee?

And finally, you've mentioned one of your motivations to be ridding yourself of testosterone, but how do you know what you'll feel like when it isn't part of you?

I'm not challenging your decision btw, I'm just trying to understand it better
