Are Dyson's still the best vacuum cleaners?

Hi all, just in the market for a new vac for my apartment, and just wondering if the Dyson ones are still regarded as the best. Have seen they vary from £250+ but there are some by Hoover, Electrolux, Russell Hobbs, Vax etc which all seem to be bagless and a damn sight cheaper but I'm very aware you get what you pay for when dealing with some of those brands.

Are the Dyson's still worth their premium? Or are there any other cheaper products that contend with them?

Our DC04 is still going strong, recently rebuilt it after washing down all the internals after many years of use, with new filters she's like new again :)

Just as I thought, my Mum swears by them and Mum's are never wrong are they. lol? Shes got 2 at home one for upstairs and one for down, and one of them has been terrorised aswell, must have had it well over 10 years. They come with 5 year warranties don't they too?

Does anyone have the DC24 ball version? Just been looking and they seem to use around half of the power of the other Dyson's (all be it with a lower 'suction' rating), just wondering how this translates into real world usage - i.e does it not pick up as good as the higher powered ones?

I'm not the first and won't be the last but it's gotta be a Henry, it's simple, reliable, a joy to pull about by his poor nose, well priced with a nice range of accessories. Not to mention you can use it bagless if you want.

Yup we use Henrys at work, can't fault them. Dysons usually break, From the ones we've broken haha.
