Car Crash & Death question

Thanks castiel and I think it'd be a flash before your eyes cause obviously your body shuts down so even if it appears to be instant for others I bet it isn't for the sufferer, I bet euphoria <if that's how its spelt :p> takes over so they're in no pain

Essentially, yes.

Can never really tell, car crashes tend to often involve full body blunt force trauma tho that usually renders someone unconscious or stunned immediatly after in more forceful accidents so a lot probably die before they are really conscious of how badly they are hurt.

Hi the same thing happened to a friend of mine a couple of years ago now. We were actually getting a flat together in a few weeks, I gave him the credit reference form for the letting agent on Friday and he died on Saturday night. It turned out he had been drinking.

I thought about all the same things so I guess it is natural to think about. I imagined the feelings of being alone pinned in a car, crushed knowing your life is going. A bit horrible but I just needed to understand it. And so young and it is hard. I'm not even sure if he would have experienced that or whether it would be quicker. I like to think he found some peace and maybe thought about his mum and dad or something in those last seconds.

But I took from it that I would make the most of things from then on as he never had the chance to.

The body is a strange thing, pain is something that seems almost welcome when close to death and in my experience the body/brain separates you from that pain insofar that when you are that close to death it is not an issue.....

How do you know?

I had a nasty car crash when I was 18, I was knocked out or just passed out, when I came round I didn't even feel any pain from the cuts and bruises, it took a few minutes before I noticed a cut on my leg. I imagine it would have been very quick and they wouldn't have barely known. RIP to your friend.

Yea Davestar same boat as me, he was only 20 years old, and he had done quiet a lot already, he was outgoing and was in some Kung Fu class and got to visit china and stuff, was also into Long Boarding, I am thinking it wasn't his fault though cause I have been on nights out with him and he would only have 1 drink then have pop/coke or whatever the rest of the night.

And Nick my mum has had 2 car crashes first time she just spun out and the car was totaled she just got out uninjured and walked home, second time she hit a post on the walkway so she didn't hit any other cars cause someone pulled out in front of her and she cut her head open in that one but she has never been unconcious or w/e or id ask her

sorry to hear this OP.

without sounding too graphic, his death was probably caused by a broken neck or vital organs being smashed into bone. both of which would likely be pretty instant.

i lost a work colleague who i was friends with to head on in 2001 when someone was overtaking on a hill. his gf survived and so did the driver of the other car, he died pretty much instantly from accounts.

Cheers, I know its morbid but I prefer the details as it puts my mind at rest

A friend of mine died in a crash several years ago, he was racing someone and wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I wanted to find out how he died, what injuries he suffered and if it was a quick death did he suffer. All those questions that go through your mind, but to be honest I wish I had never found out.

Another friend I was close to committed suicide, and I never asked anyone how he did it and I still do not know.

No - it's letters put together that best simulate the sound of disbelief that passed over my lips when I read your post.

You are not required to believe and neither was my initial post addressed to you to begin with, so it matters not what you think in the slightest.

For future reference however, you might be interested to know that the best enunciation of the expression you were trying to convey would be 'pffft'...just to avoid any confusion in future.

Again no. As I stated, it's letters put together that best simulate the sound I made upon reading your post...

"Phfffff" - there in quotes for you. No 't'.

Apologies to the OP for this BS.

Again no?

Had I countered your enunciation for the expression before?

In any case there is an excepted onomatopoeia for what you described and I gave it.

And why apologise for something you had no reason to begin in the first place. I wasn't talking to you to begin with, yet you asked a question, which I answered in good faith. There is no reason to derail the thread by attempting to dispute my answer, which you cannot objectively do, or make personal attacks in response to it. Whether you believe or accept the answer is immaterial and it wasn't necessary to express it to garner a reaction. Seems a rather infantile thing to do given the mavity of the subject, and the reason why I will not respond to you further in this thread.
