Most hated film character?

Edward I in Braveheart I suppose was meant to be hateable, but it was such a stunning performance by Patrick McGoohan, that I couldn't help liking him :D

Any character Shia Leboef gets his hands on. Ruined Transformers, ruined Indian Jones, anything!!!!

Lord yes, I wanted to strangle him in all 3 Transformer films. Got to the point in the 3rd film that I was fast forwarding everytime he opened his mouth. Sadly, I think that was true for every other actor in that film.

Nah, the stupid aliens plot ruined Indiana Jones

Admittedly yes, but think about the other films, especially the first with the ghosts at the end. They had the potential to be ridiculous and silly yet somehow they weren't. I for one think the 1980s effect they put on it didn't help, but if it had been just Indy I think it would have been at least 50% better, come on he was no shhortround. Shia tipped it into the abyss of crap!

the whole cast of cloverfield. i was so glad at the way it ended. :p
Ah, I'm not the only one who was thinking this. I was actually pleased when all of those irritating idiots started getting killed off!

As for characters we are supposed to like but you loathe instead....... (not a film but a series) Horatio from CSI: Miami. So disappointed he wasn't killed in whichever season finale it was they made out he was dead :(

I know it's an old thread but I'm not at season 5 yet with Breaking bad: I just have to add how much I absolutely hate Skyler White from breaking bad.

I agree, at one point Walt becomes evil, eg. killing the kid to get Jesse to do something.
Before that though ( and before Skyler knows of all the killing):

- She makes use of his money, but still ***** some other dude, and tries to be a bossy b... If there's one thing I hate it's dominant women ( But I hate bossy people in general)... Also she helps her boss with illegal activities too!
- She breaks up with Walt for being a weed dealer ? **** off! Nothing wrong with most dealers in my book, everyone is old enough to decide to use drugs or not ( and yeah, I'm a big pro legalise drugs fan, despite me not using, I think it's a great thing to legalize and tax).
- She meddles to much in his affairs, perhaps that's a reflection of myself I guess as I definitely do not want to get married ( for now at least) and if I'm in a relationship I'd personally think it's nobodies business how I spend my free time, I'd just see GF a couple times per week. I also quite frankly don't care what she'd do in her free time and don't want to hear about it. Skyler is reminding me of my own parents, sticking their fat noses in things that are none of their business. Luckily my parents saw that if they continued to do that to me I'd completely break contact with them and now respect my privacy ( eg. I disappear for a day or 2 and I will not get any questions any more as to where I was unless I tell them myself), but Skyler, bah, I just hate the fact how she does not respect privacy. She is not obliged to know what her husband is doing imho. A man should provide for his family imho and that's his only responsibility without any bs. what he does in his free time...
- She is ashamed of being seen together with him, eg. in season 4 ep1 she relocates his car because she doesn't want people to think he's home. Married or not, nobody touches a man's car imho...
- She's stuck up on her moral high horse overall... I hate people who whine about morals and think the law is a holy thing.

Just had to get it off my chest :p.

That said, I hate Joffrey in GoT a lot too, but less I think, as I know what's coming to him :D.

Don't think jar jar counts as that's just what annoys you about a film character, rather than hating it for being a nasty character.

My choices:
Charlie Rakes from Lawless (played by Guy Pearce)
Commodus from Gladiator (played by Joaquin Phoenix)

Emily Blunt's character in 'The Devil Wears Prada'. What a Biaaatch !

That company guy from Aliens who locks Newt and Ripley in a room with one of the aliens. What a scum bag.

The guy from GoodFella's with the wig shop. He's the one constantly hassling De Niro for his share of the heist money. When he finally got whacked I was more than satisfied.

Its funny how people say that they hate Wesley Crusher, which is understandable, the character was dire, and yet Wil Wheaton is probably one of the funniest geeks around..

Hard to say who I hate the most in films or on television, however, I guess I could say Gail Berman, the Fox President of Entertainment, responsible for giving Firefly the axe.
