*** The Official FIFA 13 Thread ***

I just played the demo and im quite impressed but then i was impressed with fifa12 until it came to the online play in pro clubs, which is the game mode i play the most. I feel EA could have utilized the buttons better when playing with a team of CPU controlled players. A for pass Y for through ball and B to order they shoot is all good except for when you want a specific kind of pass played to you eg; tap A for a ground pass 6 yards away and the CPU chips it full power straight into your face, i feel this is where EA could have implemented the X button like they do in all the other game modes, the same would apply for the through ball and the lofted through ball. So as far as the demo goes its great but i very rarely play fifa offline so im reserving my judgement until ive played pro clubs. Also i hope they have found a way to detect a rage quitter if you happen to score inside the first 5 minutes as it is incredibley annoying when you work an early goal and they quit, i can understand that they need a safety margin so if a game suffers from lag you can bail out but you dont need the ball in the back of the net to work out if its lagging or not and a game can start lagging at anytime in the match so i fail to see how this rule helps anybody in the long run.:(

[Commando]You're a funny guy Hilly, I like you. That's why I am going to kill you last[/Commando] or least get my first win against you at Fifa, ever (maybe):p

I smell a challenge coming up Lucifurrrrrrr.

[Rocky IV] I will break you[/Rocky IV]

Demo seems pretty good, all changes seem decent & subtle but will probably hold off until early access, plying the ai in 3 min matches just isn't my thing and doesn't really give a true feel of how '13 would be for me.

Will have a few mini sessions at some point, but it seems they haven't broken anything, apart from doing a few stopovers and the guy left the ball behind and auto jogged on about 15 foot, wouldn't let me change controlled player or actually control him so that wasn't a welcomed sign in game 2!

The complete dribble is totally different and it's now far more useful than it used to be, I used to use the old one a lot but this has opened up a whole new way to play and it's excellent.

Not sure on the overall feel of the game at the moment, I'm finding skills aren't as flick spazzing as before so that's better. First touch seems to work really well also.

I think there's quite a significant difference between it and 12, with this being quite a lot better but I'll be giving it some more game time as I'm not convinced on some bits yet.

F1 2012 demo is up today as well, I expect the Fifa 13 demo will be up at about 4pm when the psn store updates. Still no mention of CS:GO.

The first touch can be really annoying at times, occasionally it just pings off you for no reason. I do like the better movement and that better passers feel like... well, better passers. Defending seems exactly the same.

I'm with you Tim in that playing against the AI is very dull too.

The problem with the first touch is that if you play with say Man City, you can immediately tell the difference if you play with Arsenal. First touches with Man City are generally rubbish, Nasri for example should have a great first touch but it can ping right off him.

It adds an element of randomness into the game which isn't needed. I want players like Nasri, and Aguero and Silva to be able to kill a ball you give them dead, with one touch. This just doesn't happen at times.

Similar to what Hilly said (but mines conjecture as I havent played the demo yet) I think they should have some ability to trap the ball/reduce the first touch so you can ensure that first contact while losing perhaps some mobility from the off (cant turn as fast or trick for example). Id hope they would transfer what L1/LB does when you have the ball and replicate it to allow you to trap the ball too - in essence removing the first touch feature as per the players requirement...

I hope first touch doesnt change the passing dynamic as its part of my game, but I guess it might add additional delay between accepting the ball and when you can successfully pass it...

ps3ud0

I never bought 12 in the end, I think a year's break (from buying if not playing...) has been good for me. I really enjoyed the demo, felt like what 12 was trying to be but just much smoother.
