7950 vs 660 ti

I'd wait until it's properly implemented before passing judgement. Fine to comment on what it's looking like now but not to shoot it down before it's finished :D.

If it's pants when it's finalised then fine.

Not shooting it down but reading that article on it does not fill me full of confidence. It seems amd have already tried something similar and it never turned out so well.

I notice AA probably more than most of you guys. But then, I am on 1080p on a 46" screen :p

I cant be dealing with FXAA on most games, although sometimes it is well implemented in game it isnt blurry.

Yah AA helps a lot on physically larger screens to be fair - I didn't consider that! :)

Ho Ho Ho. I'm sure it is.

Fine mate it's noticeable to you. I don't intend to be debate it.

There is nothing to debate in universally noticeable to an individual as its down to the user and the screens his using and the particular game, some games need more some games need less.
In MW 2xA looks good enough for me, in other games i need 4x or 8x or 16x.

I think the tv/monitor you use makes a lot of difference to how good msaa looks.

On my 2010 40" toshiba high levels of msaa just tends to make the image look dirty.

On my 2012 37" samsung 16x msaa really adds a lot to the overall experience. I feel battlefield only having 4x is a real let down.

Yep and i have said before that i wish BF3 had x8 x 16 options.

I wouldn't say 'very' but i see it too. with full MSAA the image looks cleaner, sharper, it has more depth.

95% of the time 2x just does not cut it for me and i would end up moving further back from my 30" 2560x1600 monitor when i had no choice to run more than x2 due to Vram, gladly that's far behind me.

I never use AA. I don't like the blurriness it ads. I'd take jaggy edges + more fps over it any time of the day.

Agree 100%, I never used AA on my 1440p screen and it always looked better than my mates 1080p screen with AA lol. Personally I prefer sharpness to blurred, hence why I hated the N64 (its GPU blurred the entire screen as an aliasing countermeasure /vomit)

@Thommyboy how well does your his iceq 7950 boost perform?

Thanks

925MHz and doesn't 'de-boost' at all manju.

Zerocore doesn't work, either the fan ramps up faster:confused: or when it does work, it won't wake up resulting in a hard shutdown.:(

Zerocore is absolutely garbage IMO tbph, whether it only works on reference boards or not that's 2 cards in my system that never worked and a 7870 TF in a separate system that zerocore doesn't work.

The 7970 WF that I had never worked either, it woke up but the fans constantly stop-started.

How is your fan?

I'm asking because although it's quiet, it's louder than my PC@idle. :(

This is a huge issue for me, the WF cooler was silent@idle, louder on load but both of them aren't too agresively loud under load.

I must stress though, that my PC is extremely quiet@desktop, the only thing you can hear is a very slight hum from the pump, you can't hear any fan noise at all as the venoms on the radiator are spinning very, very slow.

There is also a very annoying grate to it, it's not loud, but it's very noticeable on the desktop, on the first day, my excitement of a new toy dismissed it, but after a few hours sitting next to the PC last night, it was doing my **** in.

The icing on the cake though is Spore keeps crashing, where as the 6950>70 is stable.

I realise it's Spore, but that is without a doubt, the most played title on my PC as my son loves the world building in GA.

This could be the ultimate deal breaker for me as I'm not taking all the moaning from my boy.

Gaming on 3D has gave me quite a boost on the titles that didn't like CrossFire in Tridef, so that's a bonus I suppose, on normal gaming I've had a drop in every other title bar Skyrim(heavily modded).

Hope your enjoying yours manju as, despite my gripes, it's a good solid card(when you take Spore out of the equation).

Pity another one could be going back to OcUK, the WF was gubbed though. :)
