Was really looking forward to a blast tonight. Pop on a server, ping at 380. Darned bt.
EDIT: Joined another uk server, within 2 mins im hitting 680 ping in game. Something badly wrong as ive never seen it this high before.

Hit reg is seems worse than ever. Well it is either bad hit reg or supression making all my bullets put on target, miraculously miss.
Highly frustrating.
Where are the defenders vehicles on rush? Shame it is totally unbalanced, as playing rush on these maps started bringing back good memories from playing rush on BC2.

I can fly aircraft pretty well, not as good as the "pros" who spend more than half their time in a jet/heli though, but I never bother with them at all really now, too annoying having constant lock ons, AA firing at you and trying too loose jets (with good pilots). Average lifespan for me is like 5 minutes in aircraft and I don't have the patience of firing flares to then fly back to my own base in order to get away from all the stinger users etc. and wait for the flares to return, rinse and repeat
You spend most of your time trying to do all the above rather than actually helping out the ground troops with regards to destroying tanks, helis and jets (well I do anyway
Apparently armoured kill is much better for aircraft in terms of how long you can last in the air now though.
I actually find vanilla far easier in helis. I might get a round where I fly the whole round in 2 helis. On AK there's so much AA in the form of mobile artillery, LAV AD, inf with stingers, instant respawn heli and jets. You definitely have to keep your eyes open and on the mini map.
Getting better with the mobile artillery, it's deadly against vehicles once you get your eye in. Having AA missiles makes life a lot easier too. Haven't tried the air burst missiles yet, but should be good for protecting unmanned flags (otherwise the TK would be insane). Was funny firing off a volley then seeing my team driving into the hot zone, followed by "where's all this artillery coming from?" on TS

Yeah it was. Got so pee'd off with it thought why the hell not join them? Then I got bored and left. Unless you are in a tank you are always at the peril of being sniped as half the opposing team are hiding in the hills sniping, or are in jets or tanks. Or waiting for that god damn plane thing that just flies around taking all the fire.

I thought the same, but to be fair, it'll have to have some epic range to be useful. You're more likely to get SMAWed while you're in there, and it's way too slow to drive away before a second shot, so it'll be bugger-all use. I think smoke is much more important than worrying about c4.

I'm surprised by how few people are sniping on the armored kill maps. I thought the mountains would be lit up like Christmas trees with them.
Probably because the increased ranges means all the people who thought they were awesome l337 snip0rz are actually realising how crap they are now while firing at targets more than 200 metres away
I played for about half an hour last night and got bored if I'm honest. Alborz Mountain was pretty good, but the desert map, not so much. However I wasn't really putting the effort in, just having a quick dabble and running around more to have a look at the map. Might try again tonight and put the effort into actually playing.
It's so hard sniping on these maps. So many helis, the AC130, a lot of people in vehicles (obviously) and any infantry is running around like a headless chicken avoiding the tanks rolling in.
It' s shame because using the SOFLAM helps your team out a lot but beyond that you're almost useless unless you camp-out mid range to a flag site to pick of the odd foot soldier.

I got into ac130 for the first time and just realised that it can't be piloted manually!!??
All I could do was use the gun on it and it is just flying in circles?

Btw could Dice introduce patch in future that would let players control the ac130 manually?
I know a ton of you guys already play on our server but just in case any of you missed it we've expanded to 64 slots (for the time being at least) to run the new dlc Armoured Kill.

Having seen the videos of armored kill i'm really gutted my bootcamp'd mac can't play battlefield.
Quick question, do the PC versions of the maps have any tanks in ? the consoles have plenty of tank destroyers, quad bikes and artillery, but no actual tanks !

There seems to be about 3 tank destroyers and then 2 tanks from what i've seen.
My favourite map is defently the night map, the "biggest map in the history of BF" is rubbish imo

Less work to do by adding something plain like sand as oppose to buildings, forests etc, it's what i expected to see when it was mentioned as the biggest map ever in Battlefield, rather lazy to an extent.
