Gay or nay?

I really like the TT, I think the S and the RS are fantastic cars; but I think every time I've mentioned to anyone (who is not a car enthusiast) that I like it, I've been told that you have to be a woman, a hairdresser, homosexual, or a homosexual hairdresser to drive one.

What are you opinions?

EDIT - I wouldnt let what others think dissuade my decisions on choosing a car. I owned an Impreza with gold wheels and a huge wing and had the urine extracted from me on a daily basis, but I loved that car :)

I get that with the MX-5 until they spend 5 mins in my passenger seat. Then it's promoted/demoted to a frivolous deathtrap.

You'd have to be pretty vein to discount a clearly decent vehicle for its image. More vein than the women and fabulous people who choose them for their image alone ;)

MX5's are epic to drive though. Most TT's aren't.

If you are happy drivng one that's all that matters surely?

Indeed.

I used to take the **** out of myself for driving an MX5 - but it's a fantastic car. Did I care what others think? No, because I was having so much fun enjoying my car.

Don't give in to peer pressure or bullies - if you like it, go for it.

Or get your keyboard out and start knocking out teeth.

Newer one do look better as there's aggressive lines them. Old ones look so gay even Alan Carr wouldn't drive one.

I think the early ones look very dated now. New ones look pretty good. I look so straight I could wear a gimp mask and have a burly fella ride me without looking gay so I wouldn't ever let that concern me.

You're a married man now, just whip out the wife if you want to prove you're not gay :D

It's more of a mid-life crisis car (along with Boxters) than a gay car. I friend is a Detailer, and he went to a TT meet. He said almost everyone there was over 50, and clearly bought the car to try to recapture their youth.

(Says the 51-year old driving an Impreza...:p)

When I see a lot of TT's on the road being driven by men the car's being ragged within an inch of it's life.
