AK might actually be growing on me after today - had a few good games. Gunship is absolutely devasting if people spot.

Just had a blast in one of the new Tank Destroyers, think I racked up 6 chopper kills in a single round from people basically flying straight at me. Nothing quite as enjoyable as taking out a Havoc as he swoops in thinking he has got you beat all ends up.

Sorry for the noobish question, but how do I actually find the servers in the server browser?

Is there a way to search by name or IP?

This is what I want to know aswell.

Early on I clicked on Lt matt sig and it took me to his server page in gamestracker. However I couldn't find the server within battlelog server browser and didn't know how to find it using the IP address provided.

Anyone had any luck getting joysticks to work with BF3?

I've been using an Xbox pad for jets but it's not ideal, so I dragged my old Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 out of retirement and blew the dust off it. But trying to bind BF3 controls to it seems to be a complete pain in the rear, it keeps assigning Trigger1 to everything, even with Axis inputs. Anyone else?

On the home page, half way down is a link that says 'Join Server' if you click that it will take you straight to the battlelog page of the server. :)

Is there a server which plays all maps on rotation?

Cant find any with a mix of Karkand, Vanilla and Close Quarters.

Amazing. Loved the way heli sprung up like airwolf only to be rpg'ed!! :p

AK dlc has defintely infused new life into this game

I enjoy using strategy more in these maps taking note of cover points, seeing enemy movements in the far distance and planning accordingly, as moving out in the open in these maps is pure suicide.

Except for the night map, the rest of maps are beautifully coloured.

The alborz mountain map imo looks better than vanilla snow level in crysis

Should I be worried....
Yesterday when I logged on to Origin it said that it was open on another computer, so I selected to close that and carried on as normal.
Today when I went to the Battlelog and looked at the multiplayer section the 'Filter by server name' box had HK (hong kong?) in it.
Do you think someone else has been on my account or am I just been paranoid?

Anyone else not all that impressed with AK?

I was hoping the introduction of tank destroyers and artillery on big maps would make for some awesome long range combat. But from what I've seen so far, the formula is still, jump in a vehicle and go tearing off to the nearest objective until you bump into an enemy vehicle, then enter the rock-paper-scissors combat decision process until one of you is dead. Then if you bail out and start tabbing to the objective on foot, it's not long before you are sniped by a distant M82.

The only map I've seen so far where you can engage in proper hull-down tanking is Armoured Shield. But even that still full of tanks being used as clown cars, driving straight into the middle of the capture point and waiting for someone to plant C4 on them.

I'm willing to give AK more time, and I wondering if it's because I'm playing on Matt's server with 64 players - still feels a bit crowded and chaotic sometimes. I'm just not as impressed with it as I thought I would be.

One of the things missing is an engineer in a vehicle doesn't auto repair adjacent vehicles, this used to make vehicles stick together in columns which was quite cool when two columns met.

Quick question:
I have purchased Battlefield 3 Premium Edition (base game and premium blahblahblah) from here, but I've just seen that you supposedly still have to download the game from Origin, even if you have the disks. On the other hand, I've also been told that when Origin says it is 'downloading' the game it is actually 'downloading' from the disks so it shouldn't be a worry. What is the deal with this then? I'd just not rather download 20GB+ when I could be playing it, that is all.
Any help will be appreciated :)
