Guild Wars 2

The race makes no difference to the game other than the initial settings which won't make the game easier/harder to get into. If people are picking up GW2 for an escape they're less likely to get into the game playing as a human-type race than those who pick one of the other races.

I can't see how a race is unplayable.. Annoying perhaps (as I find the charr at the moment) but hardly gimped etc.

Wab kicked me on release day for joining very small guild of some old wow friends, so that's not really a option.

Edit: I just need something with a casual friendly atmosphere and obviously with players online. :p

Dude, you were kicked because you didn't read the rules of the Guild whcih state you can't join another guild whilst you are with the Immortals.

Don't try and make Wab look like the bad guy here, any other guild would have kicked you as well.

Deth Ead (I think that's the SPL)

I'm hardly online I've been getting married then busy at work since back. What's your name? I'll look out for you mate.

Dead Beat for my main, alts are all Deadbeat something (Deadbeat Rosh, Deadbeat Cael etc etc). Can't believe good ol' Deadbeat was already taken when I got on at 07:30 on early access release day :(

I think Deadbeat & his missus are on Desolation and have a chilled guild with a laid back approach.

Not me, popped over to Gunnar's Hold for a shirt while when the woman started playing as Desolation was full, but shifted us both over to Desolation when I could and told her about it when she woke up. "Good morning Monster (pet name), here's your coffee and nicorette patch, your cereal's waiting by your desk and I changed your character's realm while you were out" :p

I don't think that's fair, he didn't seem to complain about being kicked at all, just stated what he'd been kicked for. I don't think there's a need to be so defensive about it.

ColEx, is your old wow friends' guild the dead one? If you're interested in re-joining Immortals, just drop wab a message and ask about it - if you're happy to abide by the guild rules and only stick with one guild, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be allowed back in. It's not like you were kicked for being a tool or causing grief, and I'm sure wab isn't quite as zealously rabid as he's been portrayed by butthurt former members :p

He actually kicked up an almighty fuss about it to be honest and wouldn't let it go, to the extent that a load of posts about it were deleted by mods.

I wish Immortals all the best, I moved to Gunnars Hold to play with a small group of friends (only 5 in the guild) but if I'm honest I'm missing Immortals chit-chat!

They have rules folks, you can't complain if you choose to break them - it's nothing personal and they certainly aren't the only guild to have them.

Well, I'm fed up of people in this thread trying to piant a bad picture of Wab and the Immortals. His remarks incite that it was Wab's fault why he got kicked from the Immortals instead of his own.

Why didn't he phrase it that he'd been removed from the Immortals because they don't allow you to be in two guilds. Instead of trying to name drop Wab.

It amazes me at the stupidity of some people joining a guild. They sign up to a guild without reading the guild rules, then once they join they ask if its ok if they have an alt in a friends guild. Any of the top guilds would have also kicked this guy.

To be fair, well thats if ypu wanted to., I spoke to you and asked you what you wanted to do, either stay with us, with all your toons or leave to join your m8.

I'm confusing you Wab - ColEx kicked up a mighty fuss about it, not you. And certainly not me. I had my mouth full of popcorn ;)

I'm a conditionmancer, there fantastic and can pretty much solo everything.

Problem with me is i'm so bored of this game now. It offers me nothing.

End game PvE is just a massive mats grind fest (200+ gold for full exotic gear), then touching 6 months plus of solid grinding to get a legendary.

No end game PvE content, Orr is just beyond boring, the raid dragons are nothing more then dragins screaming and fearing you, there is no tactics involved, just tank and spank.

Be under no confusion, this game is ALL about the WvWvW. That is there end game content and if you want end game PvE you can forget about it, there is nothing there.

pve is hard to balance with content the legendary requirement seems fair actually. its a pvp game, WwW or pvp offers a ton of fun. that is why people still play CS 10+ years later
In the old days (12 years ago) EQ requirerment for level 50 which took about a year for most or more then you had respect for the level people had which was ruined by WoW and the endless gratifications kids wanted.

Reelase expansions and you run into balancing issues with older content and it get a race to the best gear and then you get namecalling and cant join a group if your just play for fun ;)
GW2 at least take note its about looks :D

Getting 400 in the right proffs will be absolutely trivial compared to some of the legendary requirements though. You need hundreds of gold and probably upwards of a million karma.

Source? I've seen no mention of karma or gold in the recipes I've seen, you need to buy the relevant exotic weapon but they're not selling for hundreds of gold by any stretch.

Ah well, in which case I withdraw my previous statement.

I finally ordered the game so should get it during the week, not decided on my class yet so may try a few to see what I like.

I notice nobody talks about engineer class,so are they still underpowered or difficult class for a begineer?

Btw I've played plenty of MMORPGs over the years including GW1.

I see Wabs little army are out with there pitchforks again... I guess its pretty much impossible to look for a guild within this community then.

That's all i did.

The guild im in is not dead, there can be days where people don't log in, out of the 6 members of the guild. So im looking for something little more active.

With any guild you can join and if it doesnt work out leave, you can also transfer worlds so it's not like you cant find what you need somewhere, bitching about it won't actually help though.

http://redd.it/zx3hq Is one link.

As it isn't spelt out, U need Karma to get Clovers, because they are randomly given by the Forge, and U need Obsidian Shards which you can only buy with Karma as part of the receipe.

test all the classes out and see what fits your gaming style.

I found the engineer really good fun through the beta's but decided on my usual MMO class of ranger, then I rolled loads of alts and can't decide whats the most fun :p .. I've played since head start and still haven't got a character past level 30, I never rush to cap.

I think it all depends on what legendary weapon you want to make.
I'm going for Meteorlogicus and from what i've found so far i don't need any Karma to make it. I do need an insane amount of other items, including two recipes that are 10g each. One for an Amoursmith and another for an Artificer. The good thing is that the gifts are not bind on pickup, so i can get a mate to make the Armoursmith recipe for me.
