What would I need to watercool a GTX480 (Reference) & My CPU (i7 3770K)?

None what so ever :)

my channels must be under quite a bit of stress too as I have 4 x 180mm fans on the one channel, and 3 x 120mm vipers on another, handles it no bother :D

I certainly wouldn't put that many fans per channel on one of the 'lesser' controllers with only 10w/chan available :p

Also guys,

Is it worth getting an inline filter as OCUK have a Koolance one for about £7, and I could put it just after the exiting of the rad? It catches bits down to 1mm?

Thanks :)

No problem, you only need thread to go into the thread holes in the rad... the fans and spacers don't have any threads in them anyway so no harm in the screws missing some :D

I don't bother with a filter either, just make sure parts and fluid are clean before use

Hey Andy,

The 40mm M4 screws only come part threaded, is this going to be a problem?

Ta :)

I have never used a filter in the 6 years i have been watercooling. Once the loop is filled and sealed nothing is going to get in. The only way it could get contaminated is if the dye in the fluid seperates (not that common now Feser is not around) or the rad was'nt flushed out properly.

Thanks mate, so that's you and Andy saying no, looks like I'll leave it then :)

Hi guys,

Need some input please?

Right, I originally bought the XSPC D5 RESERVOIR AND PUMP COMBO for £120 from OCUK, but there has been a fair few threads and comments lately about how the vibrations through the case is too much, and with my long term illness I'm particularly sensitive to noise and vibrations, and I can't really deal with them, so I'm looking to change this to a bay res, pump and top, and as I won a Shoggy Sandwich from these forums I thought I could eliminate as much of the vibrations as possible?

So can you fine gents check out my proposed specs below and tell me if they all work together?

1) Pump: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-141-XS

2) Reservoir: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-214-EK

3) Pump Top: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-209-EK

Any good, could I do better? Does it all fit perfectly?

Thanks guys :)

It all works fine, might be cheaper getting a tech lab d5 though, cheaper and you don't have to fit the top. Just sit the pump wherever you like and route tubing accordingly, my shoggy is doing a fine job :D

Just looked at the tech lab D5, it's the same pump and top, though it's £10 more expensive, is it difficult to fit a top correctly?

Wow thats changed since I got my D5 Techlab (alphacool plexi top). I'm sure I paid around £15 less for the tech lab than it would have been buying separate.

It should be simple enough, it can only be risky with plexi tops as they are quite brittle, its easy to crack the clamp plate with those, acetal (the top you linked) is a lot tougher :)
