Definitely need info on this. Sounds like a real ****** they were going after. Did they have all the intelligenec needed, were they briefed properly, did they follow procedures. Do you get to a point in an operation when regardless of the dangers you have to remove the suspect from the general population at all costs.

The Police can get an awful lot of stick but when things like this happen you realise how dangerous the job can be.

RIP the dead officer and safe recovery to the critically injured one.

I think I feel a bit sick. They were responding to a routine call and now one is dead and another could die very shortly. RIP.

Just watched this on BBC news.
Would not be a copper for anything.

But it does raise the question that they obviously knew his history,so why not call for armed back up.

Sad news though.

There was a huge manhunt for him. The two officers, as reported, were attending a routine call not linked to that search.

Just watching this on the news. It's got to take a certain level of scum to shoot 2 women with no chance of defence against a gun. To then walk into a police station and hand yourself in makes me wonder why I am opposed to the death penalty (though that's why emotions in this subject should be discounted). Why shoot the officers if you then hand yourself in? Scared some cops who are armed and can defend themselves will get you. ****.

Two murders (David and Mark Short) and also murder of a police officer, so really he's been arrested for three murders at the moment.

Horrible thing to happen and I just cannot fathom the cowardice that leads to shooting two unarmed women and (given reports of an explosion and the method of his previous offences) also throwing a grenade at them? :confused:
