Tried the powerline adapters myself, unfortunately they didnt work in my house. One of my desktop rigs is kept in a new built extension to the house. Though when i used them with my laptop and the desktop in the old part of the house they worked great.

I've been gaming over wireless for years, ping today in BF3 was 34ms. I do use a proper PCI-E card though. Tried gaming using a USB adaptor and ir was next to useless. It's not as bad as people make out as long as you're not covering a big distance (mine is about 3M direct through the ceiling and a wall) and you use a decent wireless card. I'll get round to changing it at some point to an N card as it's only a G version atm but still plays fine.

Saw somebody using a ping hack lastnight. I was bitching about this guy having a constant ping of 295 and asking people to kick him and apparently it's a hack. A locked high ping to trick the hit reg detection... Sounds about right!

Don't believe that for a second.

He'll just be using the torrents or similar to throttle his connection. Been going on for years on consoles which use client side hit reg.

Why would anyone do that though?

Surely you'd just be constantly lagging and permadead?

It was at a constant 295, never once did i see it fluctuate to anything different. He also had like 60-2 k/d (slight exaggeration maybe).

Gaming on wireless :(

Netgear wireless adapter, bad job wingzero mate. I had one of those, (wpn 111). Absolute garbage, kept overheating and crashing my system. Chucked it against a wall one night and got a big long ethernet cable instead.

Yeah lol

Its Netgear WN111v2 and I have been using it to play BF3 :o

Pain to install as its not immediately recognised by Win7 64bit. I am upstairs and the linksys router connected to virgin media super hub is downstairs in my brother's room. He is using ethernet cable and enjoying gaming performance while I experience lag issues.

This probably explains the clunkiness I experience in BF3 from time to time.

Would I need a device that allows more than 1 ethernet cable to be connected to linksys router?

I game via wireless, constant ping of sub 80, my PC is upstairs and my router downstairs.

Would love to use an ethernet for downloading etc, but its simply impossible.
