nerds waiting for new iphone

Raymond has answered well why building a PC is geeky/nerdy (semantics there as it is essential the same)

The part that amuses me is in this thread we have people deriding those queuing for the new iPhone. That's dumb not nerdy (see Castiel's post above), but we also have people trying to say building yor own PC isn't nerdy. Presumably in defence of themselves not being labeled a nerd.

lol logic.

Anyone queuing up for a phone is a bit of a div anyway considering you could have one delivered to your doorstep on the day of release by preorder.

And it's only a phone, one that is almost the same as the one in most of these chaps pockets.....madness.

By your reckoning I'm now a div. I queued up in that case for all of the extra giveaways, I wouldn't have done so for the phone alone.

I couldn't give a crap if people conceive me as nerdy. I know there are many things I do that some may consider nerdy, I just don't think building your own PC is one of them with such a widespread of information on the internet these days. Most people with any kind of interest in PC gaming knows that you're more likely to get more for your money by building your own so if doing a bit if research and getting a bit of help from an online forum so that you can order parts and put them together is what you consider nerdy, then I guess to you a large proportion of this forums are nerds.

This photo pretty much sums up the entire Apple user base.

Brain damaged hipster fags.

Haha true!

Come to mind...

Just noticed a familar face on an article on El Reg.

The guy on the right of the photograph in the first post in this thread is Zohaib Ali who was there with his carer. He's autistic and was there representing an autism charity. Ali explained that iOS feature Guided Access helped autistic people use Apple gadgets.

Personally I've queued up once for an Apple launch, the iPad 2. My daughter and I arrived at an authorised dealer mid morning on the day of launch and were first in the queue for the actual launch later the day. It was an interesting experience but one I won't repeat.

And here they are post purchase...

....OK so that's from the iPad launch but these guys surely do love Apple (and being pictured buying their products).
