MILLIONAIRE Tory Cabinet minister refers to police as " plebs " - Police fabricate evidence

no but you are calling for them to be murdered in the same breath you call for their money.

all the government is doing is asking you to declare your income and pay it like everyone else.

When did I call for anyone to murder anyone?! (without taking hyperbole and presenting it out of context)

The Telegraph has published the cops statement in reference to this:

Whilst on duty at *** tonight (Wed 19th Sept) on a 1400-2200 hrs between the hours of 1800-2000 I had to deal with a man claiming to be the chief whip and who I later confirmed to be such and a Mr Andrew MITCHELL.

Mr Mitchell was speaking to PC ******** demanding exit through the main vehicle gate into Whitehall. PC ******** explained to Mr MITCHELL that the policy was for pedal cycles to use the side pedestrian exit. Mr MITCHELL refused, stating he was the chief whip and he always used the main gates.

I explained to Mr MITCHELL that the policy was to use the side pedestrian gates and that I was happy to open those for him, but that no officer present would be opening the main gates as this was the policy we were directed to follow.
Mr MITCHELL refused. Repeatedly reiterating he was the chief whip. My exact explanation to Mr MITCHELL was "I am more than happy to open the side pedestrian gate for you Sir, but it is policy that we are not to allow cycles through the main vehicle entrance".

After several refusals Mr MITCHELL got off his bike and walked to the pedestrian gate with me after I again offered to open that for him.

There were several members of public present as is the norm opposite the pedestrian gate and as we neared it, Mr MITCHELL said: "Best you learn your f------ place...you don’t run this f------ government...You’re f------ plebs." The members of public looked visibly shocked and I was somewhat taken aback by the language used and the view expressed by a senior government official. I can not say if this statement was aimed at me individually, or the officers present or the police service as a whole.

I warned Mr MITCHELL that he should not swear, and if he continued to do so I would have no option but to arrest him under the Public Order Act, saying "Please don’t swear at me Sir. If you continue to I will have no option but to arrest you under the public order act".

Mr MITCHELL was then silent and left saying "you haven’t heard the last of this" as he cycled off.
I forward this to you as all officers were extremely polite to Mr MITCHELL, but such behaviour and verbal expressions could lead to the unfortunate situation of officers being left no option but to exercise their powers.
I write this for your information as Mr Mitchell’s last comments would appear to indicate that he is unhappy with my actions.

I have recorded this fully in my pocket book.

Perhaps this will explain why the cop notified his superiors (2nd last sentence). Due to the MP's words, he felt that the MP would possibly put a complaint in against him therefore he noted down the incident just in case and gave it to his bosses.

Policeman or no policeman, that's no way to speak to someone.

Especially not a senior government figure, he should be sacked, imagine if one of us spoke to the security outside our workplaces like that, I'm betting we would be sacked, so why not this privilege rich boy, oh wait

Just shows how much contempt those in government have for Joe Public IMHO. I'm fed up of the (mainly) two party politics we have as well. MPs should be people who genuinely care about making a difference, not lining their pockets at every available opportunity.

Isn't the fact that he can't even tell the truth or admit his mistake (yes we all make them) fully bad enough? If he can't do something as basic as that....

To be honest the whole thing is a bit of a hoohaa over nothing. The copper was being a pleb by not opening the gate, ironically the Minister was also being a pleb for getting shirty becasue the copper wouldn't open the gate.

I have heard and read allsorts about what was said and what was not said but if the above statement is true then the chief whip needs to go. No way should anyone in the govenrment speak to the Police in such a way and expect to keep the job. I expect the guy to resign by the end of the day and we shall be hearing his appolgy.

Labour are a bunch of plebs for trying to turn a storm in a tea cup into a hurricane, the Met are plebs for leaking the report of the “incident”, the Telegraph are plebs because…….

Let’s face it the world is full of plebs and no one really cares……

We have a government minister questioning the integrity of a serving police officer.

Hardly hoohaa.

I like the way it's gone from the main news page. ;)

What, after two or three days or something? Round the clock boring ass commentary on the matter? lmfao, yeah some victory! :D

I know why some shrug it off, but pulling everything together... this Government has real issues either as the coalition or individual parties. The next general election is going to be fascinating, which is why I think more politicians have been coming out recently saying this is the best way, or future, for UK politics. More like they realise everyone looks a bit pants now.

But if it's policy like is stated then why should he open the gate?

This whole thing is stupid though and the constant press attention/news coverage this has got over the last few days is stupid.
