Love the look of these new ultra wide screens. Would replace my 2 screen with one if they did one for passive 3d - though would probably make for a small screen when running a console through it...

U2913 looks like a worthy upgrade but it depends on pricing when they are released..I'm guessing £500+ .. Might be next years big investment now my system has been upgraded.

That Dell U2913WM looks good, would be fantastic if it was a a 120hz model.

As I mentioned in the thread below, it wouldn't surprise me if we other makers other than Philips & LG start bringing out 21:9 monitors.:o

AH: I can see 21:9 monitors, maybe larger ones as well becoming very popular next year, especially if they bring out 120hz monitors.

i can't see 120Hz models coming any time soon about resolutions of 1920 x 1080 i'm afraid. Also unlikely to see 120Hz IPS models given LG.Displays heavy investment in passive 3D instead.

Arrrgh! Not more 1080?

We need more vertical resolution not horizontal.

I would tend to agree in this case. The U2913WM (and LG 29EA93, Philips 298X4QJAB etc.) seem like nice concepts but the fact that they only offer the same vertical space as a 23" 16:9 monitor is a bit of a downer.

From the looks of these 21:9 monitors, looks like the Phillips one from what I can tell is going to support passive 3d.

Shall we have a new thread on these 21:9 monitors? Seems like something specific enough that it may be worth it, as I would like to discuss them more, but not in a dell thread...

I personally thing the ultra wide screen could be great for movies and multimedia uses, certainly something a bit different. The 30" 2560 x 1600 U3013 should satisfy those wanting a higher vertical resolution and trust old 16:10 aspect ratio :)

I like the U2913WM, but the U3013 would be also high on my list, if it offered 120hz & a IPS screen.

I'm suprised there is room for sub Ultrasharp level IPS screens, its not as if the current U2312HM and U2412M are expensive!

There not.
But there is more competive products from other companys, with simular spec's an for less. Dell probibly wants to appeal to that market.

Still its great too know Dell is updating there 30", an releasing this new 29".
Will seriously consider the new Dell U2013, if its around £800.
