Looking at a new car soon,

Narrowed it down to a Nissan Skylne R32 GTR, Nissan Silvia s15 Spec R or maybe a Honda S2000?

What would you have?
Your pro's and con's for all three would be .

Tough one, have an awful lot of love for the Silvia, but the GTR is a proper legendary piece of kit. GTR would have to win I think, RB26 needs tuning to 500hp though, it's the law. S2000 has nowhere near the performance or looks of either, wouldn't get a look in.

Don't know enough about these cars to comment in detail, but afaik the Skyline running costs are far higher than a Silvia or S2000.

Given the choice, I'd go for a midnight purple R33 ;)

I think i'd have the Skyline out of those three, I prefer the power delivery to the S2000 and whilst I have a lot of respect for the Silvia, they're not my cuppa either.

Is the S15 Spec-R the NA or Turbo'd engine?

I'm pretty certain it's the turbo engine pumping 250ish bhp, well that's the one I was looking at.

I do like the R33 but I'm after a GTR and don't think I can afford the 33 :(

Yea I think the S2000 is pretty much out the question, but was def something I was looking into a while ago so thought I'd throw it out there.

R32 GTR but that's the only one I've driven out of the 3. Was my father's car, the joys of DOC at 19, drove it a fair bit :D Was stage 1 + Blitz Intercooler so fairly rapid. Was super reliable too, nothing major went wrong in the 4 years or so we had it, strong engines if your sensible with the power and boost.

Looks is a matter of opinion but I prefer the R32 and it's generally regarded as being the better drive, more raw, lighter etc

It's all personal preference.

I love the R33's rear end but all round prefer the 32!

Budget isn't really set in stone, but I was thinking around the lines of £8k-10k.

Will get a mint R32 for that, check the for sale section on the GTR forums :)

Have been looking on pistonheads and other forums, for my budget can get a mint moonstone blue (that dark greyish colour) R32 GTR with 400bhp ish.

But then again I can get a newer s15 silvia for similar money in just as good condition...

How about an R33 GTR?

We've got a fairly rare version in at the moment, R reg, Spec 3, Spec 2 Headlights but Xenon, Red stitched interior, Which is up for under £10k.

Not trying to sell this particular one to you just giving another option.

I do like the R33 but I do think if I'm to get a GTR will have to be the R32.

In my opinion it's better looking, and as previously stated rawer, lighter, better to drive etc

Suggestion is appreciated though, thanks.

Stretch to £11k and we have a 530bhp R32 GTR :)

again don't want to come across as trying to sell you something just showing what you can get for your money :)

I've never really been a fan of buying already modified cars, much rather do it myself.

I don't mind the basics, like exhaust, induction, mapping. But when it comes to the big stuff much rather know who did it etc etc but nonetheless that is a beautiful car!

Would need to change the wheels as I believe all Jap cars deserve deep dish rims!
Also think, 534 bhp may be a bit to much for a 23 year old who currently owns a 200bhp Ibiza :)

Definetly keeping my eye on that though.

An S15 is a 10 year old car, whereas an R32 is a 20 year old car. The Silvia is also a lot rarer and 'unknown' than the R32, and is probably more fun to drive (not that I have driven either :p). Tuning potential for both is epic, although the S15 will be far cheaper to tune (and generally maintain) than the R32.

Having said that I have promised myself at some point in the next 5 years I will buy some sort of GTR, soooo yeah :)
