GTR or Spec R or Type R?

'Hilar'? Are you a 14 year old girl? You know if I spent 5 figures on a Citroen, I'd try and convince people it was the best thing ever too.

I'm not saying it is, but it can embarrass a lot of well known powerful road cars. Weight plays a big part.

I too drive a rubbish hatchback diesel that's been remapped and think the guy down the road wont race me in his old Ferrari 360 because he doesn't want to be bothered by me and my really amazing city family car that was designed to be cheap and get good MPG but I have totally changed that with my engineering prowess of paying a dude some money.

Who's talking about diesel?

I guess if the PCD was wrong the wheels wouldn't fit so if said Evo was running on it's hubs alone it wouldn't really go fast. That explains it, you can only claim victory if the other car has wheels fitted.

Well the Evo certainly was, don't think he had the correct PCD wheels on though which would have been a handicap.

If the wheels weren't the correct PCD then they wouldn't fit.

So yes, he'd be handicapped, because his car would be on bricks.

Edit: Seems I've repeated Janesy's post. So here's some learning for you :)

The minute some scrub tier poster comes in and starts claiming they can scare off Evo's in their 200bhp hatchback everything else as retarded comes in to play. It's the rule.

Now allow me to tell you about how my 206 GTi is the more iconic car than any 205 GTi ever was because it has air conditioning and I put an after market exhaust on it from Halfords.

Your forgetting how much torque my car has. And not saying 0-60 but 50-illegal speeds it is all over the evo! The s15 is beautiful but the r32 is like a icon! Hmm will test both soon

Obviously when we talk track speeds then of course it's a different matter. I'm talking about within speed limits, where most people use their cars. And it's 220bhp not 200bhp, for a lighter car it's a substantial difference.

So first 0-60 isn't comparable but then 50-illegal is? And then 'track speeds' there's no contest but within speed limits is where it outshines performance saloons?

Umm...

Hope you're not talking about me pal? :p

220bhp, 235lb/ft, 1140kg, short gearing, do you not even accept, with a nerfed Evo on the wrong wheels, that it could be possible?

Well done, what next? A Ripspeed sticker or Lexus lights? What your drive atm? Bus? Shanks's pony?

Thread started off as an interesting read and is now approaching comedy gold status.

Just in time for your appearance then.

Wider innit, more drag

An incorrect offset wheel on an Evo will throw most of the geometry out and undo what Mitsubishi R&D did.

You're all expressing your opinions where they're not needed.s
Were you in my ibiza when i raced an evo 8 fq 300? No. I certainly didn't say it to start a mass debate.

Thank you to those guys actually answering my original post.
Get this thread back on topic, I only want your opinions and experiences with the cars I originally mentioned. If you have no decent input, keep it to yourself or voice it elsewhere.

Hahaha this thread is HILAR!!!

A 220bhp fwd hatch will not outrun an Evo. Whoever is driving this Evo clearly wasnt trying or in the right gear.

Stop deluding yourself into thinking your car is a world beater.

As Housey says, stick it on Vmax and prepare to face reality.

Ps some cars are just a lot easier to drive fast on the road. My CTR 'bothered' a Z4M this weekend when in reality that car would destroy me. And that's with a guy who could drive aswell.

Are you really going to drive an Evo/M3 on the limit on a public road? If you are then you're an idiot.

I am loving this thread.

My s2000 was a reasonably quick car.

I have driven NickXX's e46 m3 straight after being in my s2000 and the s2000 would be quicker than your ds3 I'd bet. The m3 is comparable to even the quickest evos in a straight line and it was at the very least a level above my s2000 in performance.

I may as well have been in reverse when an e46 m3 came up behind me on the track.up to about 80 it was respectable, by the half way point on the back straight at Bedford I was tapping the dash cluster to check I hadn't stalled when they flew past. I've never had an encounter with an evo, so I can't comment too much there.

A small remapped hatch will feel quick due to turbo rush Lolz, but in reality, you are just, in such a totally different league to even standard Eva's and m3's that you can't even comprehend how stupid this argument is.

ive come to this thread late (and im gutted for it)

which 200bhp hatchback are we talking about and does it do 0-120mph anywhere near 20 seconds?
