Guild Wars 2

Is it just me or in WvWvW does the majority of desolation players just follow the Zerg and accomplish nothing? Tonight, 4 of my guild mates and I accomplished more in an hour than the Zerg had appeared to accomplished all night...

With some organization, the better guilds will do their own thing (or in coordination with eachother) and just let the zerg act as a distraction.

Pretty much this... I know last night, one of the guilds I'm in did a raid on Augary's Orb and managed to steal it. And we only managed that because the zerg was somewhere else.

I'm taking the game really slowly. I must be coming up to 200 hours, and I've not even set foot inside 6 of the dungeons (and only done story mode in the 2 that I did touch). Just working my way to 100% exploration slowly.

When the original GW1 came out there was pretty much no end game PvE.. Underworld and Fissure of Woe was it.. Sorrow's Furnace didn't come in until 6 months later. And Tombs Of the Primevil Kings, didn't come in until PvP got moved to the Battle Isles.

Fast forward to GW2, and there's 8 dungeons, 4 times as many as was in GW1... and I'm hoping that more zones will appear over time. I'm not worried how long it'll take Anet, they'll get there.

I'm just praying they don't introduce Legendary Armour was well as Legendary Weapons!!

I'm taking my time as well, got a level 14 necro which is fun, probably the most bugged class in GW2 but still fun to play.

Im getting this in around a week and a half, ive never played an online MMO before, first of all is this game worth it and does it have re playability value?

Im abit stuck, currently level 33 and i want to continue with the main story but says recommended level 36? ive got 100% for queensdale, kessex kills and gendarran hills, what can i do?

You can also go to Fields of Ruin, it's rated for 30 - 35. It's an oddly ignored zone afaik.

Take the asura gate from divinity's reach located in Ruriton district to get there.

+100, but its always been like this in a mass pvp enviroment (from my experiance). Zerg meets Zerg, spend time fighting each other whilst the clever people go off and accomplish the goals.

Quite a few podcasts around the GW2 universe have also been stating this though.

Yes, yes and thrice, yes. There are some issues but these are centered around "PvE end game" in the main. Even if you don't go for months and months you will easily get your money's worth (200+ hours to experiance it all before starting any potential grind).

That's one thing I love about GW2 - multiple zones for each level range. Means you're not repeating content for each alt.

Use the portal in Divinity's Reach that goes out to the frontier town I've forgotten the name of. Content starts at lvl 30 there.

EDIt: Yeah, what Taziir said. :o

I think you'll find that my lack of content issue is that it's all a grind, and that kind of seems to be the angle they are pushing, if someone would have said "Well then this game just isn't for you then", that stops my argument completely, but you're all defending it like a child. Like my opinions should be quashed because I've "gotten there too fast".

No, Monkey, people are attacking your opinions because you said there was a lack of content. They said you'd played too much if you'd done everything already; you claimed you hadn't, but then admitted you'd played the game an average of eight hours a day every day since the launch. You're bashing GW2 because you're burnt out, but if you think about it you've extracted huge VFM from the game.

er

You implied that the designers didn't want people to group up, which is tosh. I group up with people nearly every time I do content, ranging from DE's to clearing a cave to get to that PoI. As long as you are doing stuff with others and are working towards a shared goal that is grouping up. You aren't racing against these people, you aren't in competition with them like other MMO's. You are all working together, that is the definition of group content.

haha lol i have nothing more to say to this guy.

I was hoping we wouldn't go back there. At the end of the day, I spent more than half of that time grinding trolls. To get in the position I am, full BiS and half way to my legendary. So surely everyone will have to do the same? With the dungeon change it will be a lot easier to gear up. And I mean massively easier, you could be full exotics in 2 days of playing at 80 now. Compared to what I spent my time doing.

If you'd have read all my posts, you would have seen that I wasn't saying anything about my money's worth, I'm comparing this to other MMOs I've played. And what this game could have been. I've said all along this is my opinion, and I'm not bashing the game, I'm simply saying "If X and Y were in this game would be a world beater." But I guess that's a hard idea to understand. I have even admitted I went on a bit of a rant and could have worded my original posts better.

I haven't come across any zone yet which is rough or depressing, and nothing was bugged at all on Desolation while I was there.

Anyway, finished Mount Maelstrom last night, have to say the whole Volcano event cycle was pretty impressive.

I have no real idea what I'm doing in this game but I have just reached level 10 somehow and really enjoying it. I have just been playing it on my own so far and it has been very impressive. I have just been exploring and coming across random events which I tag along too.
The variation in scenery in the game is stunning and the visuals are truly gorgeous in some areas.

Just need to work out the inventory system, Crafting, pvp and god knows what else. I can see me easily getting my moneys worth.
