Finally looking for a gaming PC @800 check these specs please

Will go over all the cases suggested again later, will pick this up Sat morning, is there anything else I may need to buy, screws, thermal paste ect? Can't think of any other components, just build, plugin, install win7, tweak :)

You don't need anything extra.

Paste comes with the cooler.

SATA cables with the board.

PSU has the rest of the cables.

Quick order it now before someone suggests a Asrock Z77 Pro4.

lol

Case is personal preference. I don't know if that case has cable management, the shinobi does and is also a tool free design. As you are not using a modular PSU, having cable management on the case will help no end, especially as it's a midi tower.

The kingston RAM will sell out very quick i imagine so don't ponder too long ;) I know you don't get free delivery but I figured you could pay and collect if you contacted OCuk if delivery wasnt convenient.

nice build.
modular mean all the cables are not fixed to the psu you plug them in. semi modular means some of the cables are fixed but they are normally only the 24 pin, 8 pin, 2 6+2 pins for gpu and one other which are needed any way. to me i dont see much advantage over modular to semi mod. but your psu isnt semi mod or modular (i think, someone correct me if im wrong) so all the the cable are attached

The OCZ ZT can remove all the cables so is fully modular. Semi modular means the 24pin block and the aux 8pin power block are "hard wired" to the PSU unit. The OCZ ZT would be easier to remove from the case to clean it out. Semi or fully modular still helps as it's the extra cables you dont need that you can leave disconnected.

The 612S is £2 more and it doesn't use wire clips like the matterhorn i.e its easier to fit the fan and wire clips can cause vibration noise. It also has a tube of paste supplied not a one use sachet like the matterhorn.

Ok can you leave links to both and will look later, gotta pick car up from garage
I like easier :)

.

They are already in the basket (post #36) I did today fella. You just need to remove the optical drive ;)

If you goto the checkout you can select collection instead of delivery if that helps you.

Video walkthrough of a pc build. That should help give you some confidence with the build if you are a bit rusty. Any problems just ask, it would be great to see a build log on here with pics to show the rig off :)

Nice, but,

Considering they are the same price, the Seagate might have the edge (like it really matters with a HDD) - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-257-SE&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=1279

Larger cache may help it.

Every little bit helps :)

Done :) Hope it will be ready for Sat. Thanks to all that helped with this, feel good to know that we are getting a good solid riig, will post build ect as and when

That's a nice spec. I used the F3 drive as it had a 3 year warranty, you changed to only a year with the Barracuda. You have 3 years on the mobo, CPU and GPU and SSD. PSU is 5 years and RAM will be limited lifetime.......very solid rig indeed :D

One optional extra could be an LED fan. Simply to light the inside so you can see through the window in the dark. I'd argue an LED fan is a better use of money than lighting strips. I linked a bitfenix fan as it's possible to turn the LED on or off with a controller. I reviewed their Hydra Pro LED/fan controller and being able to flick the LEDs on or off is pretty cool.

Again it's not necessary for the build but I thought you might like some ideas of what else you could do with it for gifts and such. Look forward to seeing the build complete, you two will love it :D

OcUK must be laughing.
They've got a free online volunteer workforce speccing and selling their gear day in, day out, working nights and weekends lol

True, but from my point of view it is easier, yes I could have bought from various other places and some I may save a couple of quid here and there but to pick it all up in one go, knowing the parts are good worth it.
However there should be a referral service whereas on order a customer can quote a forum member(s) who helped them and they should in turn benefit from OCUK - unless the free shipping is the thank you?
