Cold cold mornings.. has anyone else ever done this? XD

XD I never had a P4 in any machine, how hot did they used to get idle?

the 3.8GHz Prescotts would do 40C Idle on stock cooling. Intel actually had plans to release a 4GHz unit but it's TDP was so high that on stock cooling it's lifespan was unacceptably short!

expensive/inefficient boiler :c

I'm sure using a PC as a heater is even more expensive/inefficient!

people took them up to about 1.6v when 'clocking them though XD

1.6v? Big whup wanna fight about it? :D

Indeed, and even with gas being cheaper than electric this is still certain to be cheaper than powering up the boiler and heating the whole house rather than putting what is actually a very modest amount of heat energy (an electric heater is around 2kW generally!) into a single room in the house.
