I love bargain hunting in Tesco. This evening I bought a Pizza Express pizza for 80p, some sliced chicken for 40p, and 17 loaves of bread for between 11p and 17p (most of them were 11p). Second freezer is rammed!

If you aren't too poor to afford to run a second freezer...surely you can stretch to buying nice fresh bread instead of whatever **** hovis has come up with recently?!

Well that's not the point. Yeah, I do like a bit of fresh bread, but if I can save some money then why wouldn't I? Hovis does the job for everyday stuff, we occasionally buy fresh, and the wife frequently makes bread.

Crikey. I can't believe I just defended my bread purchasing habits online. A new level of pointlessness has been reached! :p

I can't believe someone questioned it :D

Fact is if I buy fresh most of the time 5 slices at least get thrown away as not being fresh enough..

Frozen slices sort the need for toast...

Don't listen to him. It's a false flag shortage by the farming elite to get public support for bigger agricultural subsidies.

This.

The bacon market is one of the most heavily artificially manipulated market in the food industry.

They hold pigs back from slaughter to drive prices up over the European BBQ season, then they complain when people stop buying bacon when the price is high and the demand is low.

The price of bacon seesaws about 25% up and down across the year.

Sunday mornings are the best for meat I have found - around 10-11am.

Get some proper bargains :)

Also: Lidl on a Tuesday night have lots of reduced meat too. Managed to get 5 packs of lean mince for less than £6 the other week :D

Make a lovely Toast, beans, bacon lasagne (if i can call it that) once from sainsbury's own brand.

Beans and bacon as the ragu, toast as the pasta sheets, came to around £8.

there was 4 of us and we just demolished it.
