I notice that although W7 records backups to this drive , however it is unable to use them to restore , making backup pointless . should I just switch backup off ?
therefore How do people using an SSD get around this , can you back up to another drive for example ?
Im ok at moment , but I dont want to have to spend days re installing all my applications with a full reinstall if the worst happens .
thanks

System restore should work? Works with my ssd, check you havnt disabled it,quickest way is to clone the whole drive to a spare cheap 120gb hdd and clone it back to your ssd if and when needed

Yeah its there Wazza , iv got all the saved points to choose from , it shuts down and goes through the motions of restoring , eventually signing back in it says your system was not restored successfully with a long error code ect .

I cant just copy n paste everything other to one of my mechanical drives , and copy it back instead of getting another SSD ?
thanks

No, copy and paste won't work :)

There could be a corruption somehwere. Delete all the restore points and rurn off System Restore. Reboot then turn it back on and manually create a restore point. See if it restores from this.

If that doesnt work, Google the error code.

You can clone the drive like I said above but system restore should work fine

Macrium reflect will clone the drive,it copies everything for you and its a bootable copy of your original drive, only takes 5mins with an ssd
