As soon as I fired the rpgs I was keeping a track on their trajectory and they were sure to impact the heli body.

However I was facing the left side of the heli, so it is probable that rpgs went straight through the open door area where gunners take position.
 
Anyone having issues getting into games now? When i try and join a server after a few seconds the joining game box that pops up just vanishes, tried numerous times on different servers and same thing every time.
 
Ended up rolling backa few days to get bf3 working again, odd. Only things i can recall being installed are steam updates, and dopt net 4 with ati beta drivers.

I've noticed that.
I had a number of occasions on AK yesterday (first time spending time with it) where I was shooting people and getting no hit revs at all, regardless of weapon used.
 
there isnt hitreg in bf3 :D

had a couple of games tonight as was bored of cod4 as been on it all week

joined metro server 9 on each side and people are camped in corners

9 people on and people are camping . nearly as bad as mw3 .
 
I rarely play bf3 now tbh, too busy with work. Tbh im bored with online fps in general. Thinking of starting shooting again for real. The hunter kinda appealed to me, but i miss going out after live quarry.
 
I might do in a few weeks time Dg, but as i said above. Im pretty bored with gaming in general. I go through phases where i like playing games, then i have no interest for weeks at a time. I played a few rounds of bf3 this week, but they felt like a chore. It lacks the fun factor of bc2 that kept me occupied for a good bit.

this, im just playing borderlands 2 then ill be doing nothing until halo 4

bad company 2 is in the top 3 most fun online games iv ever played, bf3 still cant touch that.

Allies also had the M10 tank destroyer,as found on battle of the bulge map in BF1942,so that would balance it out alittle, id really really really love to see a new WW2 BF game :D

client side hit detection makes your hit reg better. The game no longer has to talk to the server to work out if you hit the target or not by comparing your opponents position on the server, with where your shots were fired.

Instead it knows if you hit the player or not because it can see where the player is on your client. If you hit the player on your screen, you get the hit.

THe downside to this is that it becomes easier for other people to hit you (ie you've gone behind a corner and still getting shot because on your opponents screen you're not round the corner yet)

and because its easier to hack and fool it (ie mass murder hack)
