Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

The more I play this the less I'm enjoying it. Needlessly tough enemies, woeful regular loot drops and some of the side missions are harder than the story missions :(

I'm level 26 and seriously struggling on level 24/25 side quests which just seems ludicrous! Also struggling to find anything decent in the way of machine guns with extended clips - the first game I had an S&S rifle with over 200 clip. Biggest I've seen here is about 112 and that was 20 hours ago :(

Maybe I've just rolled my Gunzerker badly? Certainly not enjoying it as much as the first game though :(

Same over here, I am really disappointed by the difficulty spikes of the game, poor loot drops and overall fell of the game.

Shame this game does not lower higher level people to the same as the people they join.

eg a level 26 joins a level 16 (the level 16 player gets screwed on XP).

Whats the point in getting XP if a level 26 player joins the story mode of a 16 level if all the missions are completed already on level 26?

I usually have 2 characters which I'm playing, one for main story solo campaign, the other is for a co op I have with my house mate which we use when we go on at the same time. Co Op is good fun.

My drops are rubbish as well, but still enjoying the game. Also find not being able to buy decent weapons a pain as well, just spending all my coin in the bandits in hope I'll score lucky, which I never do.

Found tipping moxxi at the Ba the best way to ge a decen weapon.

Drops are spotty. I got lucky a few times, usually at the end of some quest. In second play through, the drops and rewards are much much better.

For my second character, I'll rush through first time, and just play proper during the true vault hunter mode.

Still being 10 levels above turn it into easy mode. I'd rather have some form of levelling (weapons and player, but keep the skill tree intact), to make it more interesting.

And also private loot. But I know they will never consider that an option. Somehow, the co-op loot race is apparently considered 'fun' and I'm wrong

Multiplayer loot is fun when i go in with only 14 items held and then go straight for all the purple drops and take 13 of the best drops.

Empty your inventory, pick up everything shiny, quit once inventory is full, sell junk, repeat. Which makes for great 'co-op'. I don't mind that since it's part of the game, but they should really provide the option for playing proper coop versus a more competitive co-op.

I wish there was a way to remove scopes from guns.

I have found some great guns which I simply cannot use due to the scopes being far too zoomed.

Got a brilliant SMG yesterday, but its practically got the same distance scope as a sniper rifle, just isn't practical. I would personally much rather have iron sights on everything except sniper rifles.

Thats like saying 'this gun is great except its shock, wish I could remove the shock component'. Its just another piece on the random part rolls that define a weapon. Just something you have to put up with, like that stupid 'Firing increases accuracy' mod on hyperion sniper rifles which makes it useless for the first few shots or burst fire on sniper type weapons.

I had to fight a super badass varkid. It wasn't fun!

Did a quest last night where i spawned two mutated badass varkid at the same spot next to a respawn point. Only had standerd and corosive weapons, so everytime i die i respawn at the same spot, and the mutated badass varkid where back up to full health.

Ive learnt now and carry more than one tipe of gun.

eh eh eh...could do that too. ive not done that as of yet but for the abusers you could easily do what i said and just pillage everyones game.

I honestly cant say that ive ever bought a good gun from Marcus.

Best guns have generally come from golden keys with a few decent ones from pick ups along the way.

The guns are always too far below your level and the random jumps in enemy levels rarely ever correspond to your level thats the problem. The Fridge was 6 levels below my Gunzerker at one point. I was waiting for the damn area to level up before getting my Roaster, went back in a couple of levels later and everything had jumped up 4-6 levels. Lynchwood is a good area for sticking at your level. We did the Control Core story quest, went back to Lynchwood and they were lvl30, same as us, and seriously powerful. Then went over to the Sawtooth place for some sidequests and they'd dropped a few levels again ><

Lol... as did I, it was emotional!
I was trying to kill the mutated varkid on my 2nd play through in true vault hunter mode, Lvl 42. but i died, when i respawned and went to find him again, i was confronted by that abomination, i think i died like 20-30 times, i was determined not to rage quit!:p

i'm on 2nd playthrough level 35, i now need to level up again before rescuing Roland from that Hyperion camp.

the 2nd playthrough is much harder, i dont have the acid sniper rifle any more, so the robots are much harder to kill, i need to hunt for better weapons before continuing.

the weapons aren't as good as the 1st game, especially the assult rifles, i have not found a 120 round mag fully auto yet, only triple burst fire or single fire... because in the last game i had two of them, you need something that kicks out loads of led, i can only get this with the SMG.

you know the badass giant psycho, the one with a withered arm from the 1st game, i cant kill him at all, i cant shoot him up at range or while he's coming close, i havent got a gun that fires fast enough or has enough damage, i have to turn and run every time.

i have a huge shotty but it's very slow to reload, so i'm killed while reloading, i can only really run past him in stealth mode, he is way stronger than Goliath.

without powerful elemental weapons this game is a grind, it's die die die, it's a bit embarassing too !

i have a 1500 damage fire pistol and it wont even scratch him, i can hardly believe it, and my 10 000 shield goes down instantly.

yea im lvl 31 and it annoys me that all the GUN vending machines dont level up with me.. so when i go back to an area my choices to buy are lvl 8 guns:/ so useless.
level 8 guns !!!!!!!

you wait till level 35, because level 30 guns are useless too, my 2000 damage sniper rifle is rubbish..

the first game had far better balancing, far better guns too..... i.e i have a really good SMG but it has two mags, so he has to reload both of them in a melee', it sucks so bad because it takes him 5 secs to reload, it's like this all the way through for me, i must be very unlucky because right now i'm finding nothing.

i found a 1600 **** sniper, it was useless, nothing like as good as my 400 acid from the 1st playthrough.... level 8, they just turn purple nothing more.

i remember the Detonating Cobra 1100 damage x3 from the 1st game, plus the Maliwan volcano, there's nothing as good as this here, not even beginning to get close!

this game is miles bigger and far more awesome, but the last game was a better shooter.... 560 Shattering Mauler, pure heaven.

this game suddenly levels up way ahead of you, making your guns useless, it does not level up smoothly, and if you do find a good gun it's from the next level up, so you're stuck in a map with old weapons from 4 levels down and AI two or three levels up..... this would be ok if it was an Acid Sniper, because this will last about 10 levels. i had my last acid right through to the end.

this destroys the gameplay/ balance making the game virtually impossible to play, plus when you do die, you are quite often respawned miles away.

I've just got past the point where
Bloodwing dies
on my second playthrough. Im playing as Axton and im not finding it too difficult, its still pretty irritating when I get outdamaged by my turret but I guess thats more to do with the way I specced myself (Full geurilla turret and survivability). I still die every hour or so but there are no points so far where I have got stuck and I wouldn't say my second playthrough was any more difficult than my first.

I am fortunate to have picked up some decent elemental weapons in the past 5 levels. I've got a burning SMG, electric sniper, a caustic pistol and an explosive rocket launcher, so i've got all bases covered.

at least there is no Crawmerax here :D.... flipping heck !

because the end boss in this game was dead easy to kill..... thank God

sorry, Crawmerax was in the DLC, he was at level 76 ... you can not kill him on your own without God mode, but if you can then you're a genius.

Right basically im getting a little paranoid with my drops. Been reading about people getting such and such weapon off bosses, but when i face bosses all i get is general loot drop (even though my relic gives me 5% chance of getting rare loot)

So i did the clan wars one as i've seen mick (Irish fellow) drops a gun called maggie...well done it 3 times while exiting without saving and received nothing bar general loot drops.

am i being ripped off here?
