I did ask for a 680 at £299 but didn't expect it lol :D
To be fair 5UB offered a very nice discount off one of the more expensive 680s but it would have brought the price over £300. I was willing to go slightly over but not much. A bit backwards really because after buying a water block it puts me over anyway :eek:
 
Nah, its good to stick to your principles/budget for things. I refuse to buy a card over £150 myself. If they want my money they (nvidia/amd) will have to offer something worthwhile and good value instead of inflating prices with every gens performance increases.

I dont get it but then im tired haha.

You paid £299. You were given £90. The cheapest new 680 is £380 i think so if youd taken the £90 off that youd have got a 680 for £290 :confused:

Arghhhhh, I hope I am wrong on this but As soon as I put my order into OcUK for my parts (£1155.48 worth) I phoned OcUK to check if delivery would be tomorrow and I was told "Everything is in stock, so yes everything will be with you tomorrow". I put the phone down with a big grin and phoned work to request a days holiday which was granted. The trouble is, I feel I may be wasting my holiday (again) as I have not recieved any confirmation email of delivery and when I check my order status, it still says "In our warehouse queue".

I wouldn't mind if I was told on the phone that it wouldn't be here till Friday or something but to be told it will be there tomorrow and it isn't is a wrencher.

Hopefully I am wrong on this and it will be here. I have posted in the customer services section and hopefully 5UB will repsond :confused:

The discount was offered on one of the more expensive 680s so the final price could still have been a fair bit over £300.

Had similar issue with at least 2 of my recent orders. :(
 
This happened to me with a b grade item. The most anoying part was the lack of intrest in providing an alternative. Wasn't until i phoned up a few days later that i found out that there was no stock, ocuk shoud have told me instead of waiting.
 
From my experience you get an apology and that's it!

I had sooo many issues due to stock not being actually in stock etc - not being told, having to phone up. Deliveries being delayed etc, etc, etc.

I wasn't offered £90 or a £90 discount lol :D
I was offered a good discount but off a more expensive 680 that would have then cost £360. A good deal & i'm grateful for the gesture but it was £60 more then I was willing to spend on graphics. Especially as 1 670/680 is almost only a sideways move from my 470s :)

I look forward to installing my 670 when it comes, then in a month or 2 buying another one :)
 
@Gregster, did you order a switch 810 matte black, sure i read somewhere you was after one

Edit. Thought i did, was on your spec list, did you still go with it??

Reason why i'm asking, i ordered mine at about 8 this morning and it was he last one according to the shop site.

Meh!!!

My fault for ummming and arrring before pulling the trigger. I ordered the gun metal colour switch case instead. TBF, I wasn't decided out of the 2 which to go for, so you getting the last black one made my mind up :)

Ah ok im with you now.

On the subject of your 670. I just changed from SLI 480s to a single 680.

Performance wise its pretty much identical, if anything the 680 is slightly slower than the 480s, but on the plus side im saving money on the electric bill and the 680 runs a lot cooler than the 480s :p
