my best mate is going to give me £100 to put towards a gpu and I'm going to gie him my 470 (he has nothing atm) I'm pretty sure I want to stick with NVIDIA as it is purely for one mmo Darkfall UW and the first one ran much better on NVIDIA cards.

Personally if you are thinking about a 660TI, I would be looking a little further at the 670 (offers better performance for not much more) or even looking at the 7950's from AMD. Some very good bargains to be had from 'team red'

Hmm so really your selling your GTX 470 to your 'best mate' for £100. Seems a lot for a 470 tbh
.Why not grab a HD 7850 2GB, nice upgrade from the 470, more performance, twice the ram. low power use etc. Cheap aswell...
GTX 660's are way to overpriced atm, either a HD 7850 or get a GTX 670 over the 660...

The problem is i have like a mental block about amd gpu's even though i don't think it warrants the lack of faith in them? I'm sure this is the only forum people could kind of understand that aha

Fairplay to you! Which ever you go for, it'll finish off your system nicely. The pick of the 670's would be the Gigabyte Windforce 3X which can be had for a tad over £300.

It's fine to go with either company, as long as you are making sure you are getting the best bang for bucks card for your budget and is performing better on the games you play (some games perform better with Nvidia card, while some perform better with AMD card).The problem is i have like a mental block about amd gpu's even though i don't think it warrants the lack of faith in them? However it is also depending on if you need specific features, like for example if 3D and PhysX matters to you of make a difference to the games you play, then it might be better to stick with Nvidia; where as if GPGPU is what matters to you, then the 79xx cards would be better than Nvidia's current gen's offering.
