EE set to launch 4G LTE in the UK on October 30th

I joined in Oct 2004 - pretty sure on I got in before the change.

What was the change/s exactly?

F&F was available to all T-Mob employees. On top of this, they could add upto 10 other people (max 3 per year). This gave them 1/2 price line rental for life regardless of price plan as long as they kept that line active (you can still change number if needed)

New F&F was the exact same with the exception that, once the employee left T-Mob, the F&F was removed from everyone they added it to i.e. themselves and the (upto) 10 people. The old F&F kept it even after the employee left.

I have had F&F since 2000. Saved approx £2500 in that time.

Which is why I think they may try and get people off the old one.... Imagine someone like me having it for circa 50 years in total at about £20 savings per month....

Still make enough money from us on f&f tbh.

I'm sure a member of staff commented on someone's post on FB saying full monty will be allowed with f&f, but no official confirmation yet that I have seen.

GREAT NEWS!
We’re planning to have 4G coverage in your postcode when we launch. You can get a 4G ready phone on Orange or T-Mobile and move to an EE plan when we launch 4GEE.

Very tempting if they do a sim only unlimited data sort of thing I'l get rid of giff gaff and switch :)

F&F was 40% when I left in May, it's still that isn't it? Voda F&F is a mile worse, I actually kept my family on Orange :/

If it is 40% now then that is even worse. Something in the back of my head says that is to do with the Orange merger as the Orange discount was 40% so T-Mob might have changed it

Either way, the original F&F (till mid-ish 2004) was and still is 50% for life :)

I know everyone is hung up on the data side, but does anyone know what they will do with the voice side of things?
Are they going to use VoLTE or are they going to hand off to 3G with the inevitable delay that will have?
Has anyone seen anything on this yet?

Morba can confirm but my ex colleages tell me it's 3G/2G for voice. Old Orange F&F discount was 30% for life, 5 per year Richie, we moaned at the merger and it got raised 10%.

As persistent as I am I called T-Mobile again and spoke to another nice lady who did me a 8day early upgrade on my other line.

So the deal is a Grey LTE S3, £41PM half price...£39 for phone. 18months. £408 total.

900mins, 500txts, 60min international, 750MB DL Unlimited web browsing.

EDIT: She also said we can keep F&F on 4G- EE contracts when they're available, I'll believe that when it happens.

7DAY REFUND window too if I'm still hankering after the Note.

750MB for steaming Youtube, music etc.

Unlimited 3G use for web browsing.

I go over my current 500MB loads of time - say upto 1-1.5GB. T-Mobile have never contacted or charged me.

only 750MB for music and youtube ? thats not much is it...
what about if you use this 750 ? will you be still able to stream music via 3G ? or will they charge extra ?

I had a feeling there will be limits but 750 is nothing. especially if you stream a lot of music...

I nearly always go over and T-Mobile never charge me. They're also suposed to send a warning too before they get annoyed.

I'm not a heavy 3G streamer either.

EE contracts are out at the end of the month and I'm sure they have larger data allowances. That above was a 3G contract.

almost upgraded but will hold my horses...will wait until EE announces their price plans and prices for their LTE mobiles.
I would love to have LTE phone on contract but if they will be silly with high prices, I can live with 3G :)
No need for me to stream movies to my mobile. watching you tube would be easier but it is not what I do on daily basis anyway.

loads of music eats loads of data though
