Dropped Samsung S3 screen colors mixed

Yep seen that instore, I think it's way overpriced for what it is.

To be fair, for the kind of person who doesn't believe a phone LCD should shatter if dropped onto a hard surface from a decent height, it's a great price.

I don't drop my phones, nor do I think that dropping one and shattering it = bad build quality.

Dropping it from 2 feet onto a pavement shatters the LCD, for me that's bad build quality and bad luck

Has anyone had experience with three for something like this? How quick are they at repairing? As it's not covered under warranty if they couldn't repair it would I have to pay for a new phone!?

A friend's GNex's usb port broke and he took it in to Three. They told him to go over the road to the Carphone Warehouse who said they'd take it for repair. They kept it for a month, and then lost it when trying to return it. So they gave him a brand new GS3 instead as compensation. Therefore in answer to your question.... rubbish, then very good :D

Then by your own argument, there's not a single standard phone on the market with good build quality.

My HTC Desire, HTC Touch Pro and Nokia N73 all survived worse than a 2 feet drop. I think I was unlucky in that the phone landed on the edge causing all the force of the impact to be concentrated in that one area.

crashing a Bugatti Veyron into a wall at 10mph will dent it too... rubbish built quality ;) its not a ball so it was never made to be dropped on the floor - its your own clumsiness that caused it, not poor build quality :)

A dent in a car doesn't stop you from driving it, a smashed LCD on a smart phone stops you from using it ;)

And I've dropped my S3 and it's still alive...

That's exactly the point it's 100% luck. *ANY* normal phone could break from a 2 foot drop, but then if you're lucky you might drop it from far higher and it survives. It just depends on your luck that day.

I dropped my Desire HD the other day, well I say dropped it, it fell off the treadmill whilst I was running, I stamped on it on the way past and it was then fired off the back of the treadmill and into the wall behind. I was sure it would be smashed to pieces but there wasn’t a mark on it :)
