*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Just got an email saying buymobilephones.net actually have no stock of the grey 12 hours after I placed my order when they claimed they had stock.

Three orders later I don't know if I can be bothered with all this carry on. I wrote them an angry email, not that it will make much difference. What a terrible, terrible launch.

That was my thinking too, but then will the LTE version work with the 800MHz and 2.6GHz bands either? Basically meaning, get the
  • 3g Note II - use it with everyone
  • 4g LTE Note II - use it with one, possibly two networks EE ( now) & Three (next september)

I think I'm swaying towards the 'regular' 3g Note II at the moment.

I think that the Note2 LTE (the October 15th version) will only be compatible with EE's 1800Mhz band. So yes - those are pretty much the choices.

For more general compatibility, we probably need to wait another year (for GS4 / Note3 and similar). By then the other bands should we well defined.

Just bought the Grey Note 2 from 3, reading this thread I found out it wasn't 4G compatible even though they told me it is 4G ready. It will arrive on tuesday but I have 14 days to return it.

I was thinking because TMob/Ora are the only companies to have the LTE version, wait for the 15th and if the prices are too high for 4G just get the LTE version but on a 3G contract and when 4G is affordable switch to it then. 2 years is a long time and its always good to be future proofed.

4G is amazing, but 3 has a really nice network, that they are upgrading to 42mb soon enough, early next year IIRC.

Will the version I receive support 3's 4G (42mbs)?]

3G on the Note is upto HSDPA, 21 Mbps.

Also AndroidAuthority's benchmark shows LTE version having a "25% reduction in performance" do i need to worry about this?

Wouldn't worry about the BS on those benchmarks/video - the SoC in the Note is deffo more powerful than in the S3 as it's the same hardware just clocked higher. All Note2's have the same SoC's.

Checked stock online yesterday then phoned them, they said all stock in store is reserved but they can get one too my local store next day which they seem to have done, just waiting.for delivery to store

Tried to upgrade a few days early with o2 to the Note 2 but they said they don't get it till Tuesday 9th. Not a massive deal waiting till them to upgrade but I could walk into a CPW and get the phone on o2. Confusing but probably something to do with them selling unlocked phones.

The guy at o2 said he can't go through contract offers as they don't have any until the 9th. Should have it within a week though. Played around with it in CPW and it is definitely much nicer in Grey.

Hmm ok, I'm not sure why so many people are rushing out to get one then, I definitely want a 4G ready phone if committing to a 2 year contract!

On Monday I'll order this on Three's One Plan, as they're the only provider I've talked to that offers truly unlimited internet with tethering included. T-Mobile couldn't offer me more than 1.5gb with tethering.. no thanks.
