Toyota to recall 7.4 million cars

It is the biggest single recall since Ford called back eight million vehicles in 1996.

Toyota's reputation was damaged in 2009 by a recall that ended up involving 12 million vehicles, fines from US regulators and an eventual apology from the company's head.

Well, I picked up our Yaris from my mother-in-law and drove it home. I can report that the driver door did not catch fire.

The thing that annoys me is where Toyota do a recall for these switches, but what about the huge engine issue with the 1zz-fe and cylinders walls leading to pro oil usage and dead engines...

Not complaining they replaced the hybrid pump on my prius now im getting the steering checked with this new recall they are going to do the cvt fluid change cheap as well at same time. Courtesy car and it gets a wash and hoover. Been very very impressed with Toyota over the whole thing so far.
