Hazro and Radeon cards

I just wrote a huge message explaining everything, but instead I'll just cut to the chase:

My Hazro WC doesn't like my new MSI Radeon 7970, despite working fine with my existing MSI Radeon 6970. I am going to RMA the screen, but I'm wondering if I should ask for a refund and get the Asus PB278Q 27 instead?

What do you think, is the replacement Hazro going to be ok, or am going to have to dick around again the next time I upgrade GPU?

So let me get this right...
Your Hazro WC was working fine with the 6970 then you replaced it with a 7970 and now you're having a problem with the monitor?

Doesn't that suggest that there is a problem with the GPU not the Hazro?

What do you mean when you say that the Hazro "doesn't like" the 7970?

I'm guessing that there was more information in the "huge message" that you deleted but based on what you've written here it looks like a problem with the GPU.

Try the monitor again with your old card. If it's fine, then it's the new card that's the problem.

What is the problem exactly?

More info [thread=18449244]here[/thread].

It's definitely the screen, the card was returned to OcUK and tested fine. When I got the card back I borrowed a screen from a friend, a 10 year old HP, and it works fine with that.

I have the same problem with an MSI TFII HD6950, XFX HD7970 DD/OC & Gigabyte WF HD7970, I can't view my UEFI at start up, it worked fine with any Nvidia GTX 580, GTX 670 & a GTX 450...

Do you have an ASUS Motherboard ? I'm trying to find out if this could be Mobo related.

My Spec.

Sabertooth Z77 (Bios 1504)
Hazro 27" WC
Gigabyte WF HD7970

I the problem is with ether Monitor, Motherboard, AMD or all of them ? It has to be with the GPU as Nvidia works fine, it could be that Nvidia has some sort of support at 1440p & 1600p on this boot ! AMD doesnt have this & my screen only kick in @1440p when the drivers are loaded, the windows splash is also at a lower res ?

There is a way I can view my UEFI or boot screen - Now here the strange part, plug a monitor thats 1080p or lower into the HDMI or DVI, I don't have to power the Monitor thats 1080p but the GPU need to know there is a Lower res screen pluged in ! The Boot screen is scaled down to 1080p on the Hazro (where the Nvidia sets it right @ 1440p).

For me I think its the AMD GPU thats at fault as I can't find away round it other than change the GPU back to Nvidia or the Monitor to one that can Scale (as the Hazro doesnt have any Scaler onboard)...

Yes, I have a P6T, but everything is fine with the screen I borrowed, so it's definitely the Hazro screen.

RMA request was emailed to Hazro this afternoon. Hopefully I can get a replacement model which is newer and has these issues sorted, as I don't want to have to go through this dicking around in another 18 months when I upgrade GPU again.

What Screen & Res did you borrow ?

Let me know how you get on as if they find a fix then I may chase them on it too !

My first 30" hazro did that. I updated my bios and the bios on my gpu and it worked fine.

Also my new one wont display bios on dvi but withh via display port

Off to an awesome start:

I expect 1 thing from my monitor, to display the image from my PC. All other monitors I've owned have done that under all circumstances for the last 18 years I've owned PCs.

The problem of it not working with random cards, plus the dead pixels, plus the intermitant fault where the screen goes all fuzzy makes me just want to get shot of it for good.

Yes, I agree...

The price point won me over, should have saved for a Dell !

I'm going to try & flash the HD 7970 GPU soon to see if another BIOS fixes the problem, I'll update the thread with my findings ?
